On Gear Live: Apple’s M5 Chip Made the MacBook Pro Unstoppable!

Now that he’s got the disclosure part of the way, David Letterman is working on Phase 2 of his extortion plot situation: the apology.

On tonight’s Late Show broadcast, the host took time out to address the main woman in his life—his wife Regina Lasko. Although they have only been married since March of this year, the two have been dating for over 23 years. In other words, long before he ever started having sex with Stephanie Birkitt. (CBS provided the snippet above from this evening’s monologue.)

Imagine how delighted seven seasons’ worth of contestants would be if Simon Cowell stepped onto the Idol stage to sing - and, subsequently, be judged. On Season 2 of Food Network’s , a hard-to-please judge will most certainly be on the set…but not to offer her critique.

Starting Sunday, Chopped‘s Amanda Freitag will be stepping out from behind the big table to stand under the harsh glare of criticism herself. Freitag is bucking to be The Next Iron Chef, the second the series has picked through reality TV competition. to win the honor; he has gone on to enjoy a 7-2-1 winning record in Kitchen Stadium.

Today, everyone’s talking about an . It is amazing that such a thing could happen in today’s times of extreme FCC regulation. But here’s the thing: it’s happened before. When it’s live TV, bloopers of all kinds are going to happen. For those who remember seeing John Belushi tear up the set, Jimmy Fallon breaking up into giggles in almost every skit he was in and Eddie Murphy quickly glossing over a flub while he played a black activist, an SNL mistake is just more entertainment.

Today, everyone’s talking about SNL’s new female cast member. She was hired to shake things up a bit, and that she did, by dropping the live on the show’s 35th season premiere. But Jenny Slate’s oops moment was already eclipsed by Lorne Michaels’.

Where the hell is Darrell Hammond on the opening credits, hmm? The actor showed up on Thursday to do his famous Bill Clinton impersonation but was mysteriously missing from the Saturday version of the show. Hammond has served fourteen years with the series to become the most tenured cast member in SNL history…and what? Now he’s out of the weekend loop?

What a way to make a debut! All eyes may have been on Megan Fox, but all ears were focused on an entirely different actor last night.

During a sketch called “Biker Chit Chat,” newcomer Jenny Slate could be heard saying the real F-word during the East Coast version of the show. Although she managed to move on with her performance, it’s clear the SNL player realized the mistake she had made.

Former Illinois Governor appeared on The Daily Show last night to talk candidly with Jon Stewart about his public fall from grace…er, sort of. Actually, Blago mostly stuck to his carrot-on-a-stick “I’m innocent” story, wherein he is prevented from actually disclosing the evidence that will prove he did no wrong.

Looks like the new teen-friendly, high-society programming schedule at the CW isn’t paying off as well as expected. The network’s new and much-touted series is failing miserably in the ratings race.

The series gained only a 0.5 rating last night with its target 18-49 audience, while getting a rather dismal 1.05 million viewers total. What’s okay on cable just won’t do for a network that’s trying to be a major player in the TV game. Even this TBL news wouldn’t be so bad, but both Melrose Place and 90210 are performing as well.

Looks like the CW needs to keep re-vamping their schedule…or, just show more Vampire Diaries.

So the sources were true—Megan Fox will indeed be hosting the season premiere of Saturday Night Live.

In the promo clips for the show, which airs on NBC this Saturday night at 11 p.m., Fox jokes with SNL cast member Andy Samberg (focusing yet again on all of the “hot” jokes surrounding the Transformers star).

At one point, Samberg tells Megan, “God, you are so beautiful,” to which she realizes he was talking about a guy standing next to her.
