Mumford and SonsMumford and Sons have made "sacrifices" for their new album.

"The Little Lion Man" band, who formed in December 2007, hope their second record, Babel, will change people's view, after being labeled "folk," a tag they disagree with.

"The cynics can all f**k off. We think this new record will attract a different audience and broaden people's views of us. We have made so many sacrifices and we've not taken the easiest route. And so I hope people do understand where we are coming from because it's a good place, not a capitalistic venture at all," said keyboardist Ben Lovett.

Missy ElliottMissy Elliott releases two comeback singles today. The rapper's first new songs since 2005, "Triple Threat" and "9th Inning," were both produced by Timbaland and mark her return as a solo artist after being diagnosed with thyroid disorder Graves' disease last year. Missy will also release new album, tentatively titled Block Party, later this year.

Describing the new record in a UStream interview with fans, she said, "I like to call it theatrical hip-hop. It's not [1999 album] Da Real World all over again, but just the dramatics of the real world is the feeling that I get from this album."

The star has also distanced herself from a project to posthumously release tracks by singer Aaliyah, whom she and Timbaland worked closely with before her death in a plane crash in 2001. "Until [her family] come and say we're ready to do an Aaliyah album, then I don't really want to try and get into that because it's really sensitive," she said.

PinkPink wrote a song about an argument over butter. The singer explained how "Just Give Me a Reason" on her new album, The Truth About Love, is inspired by the small signals a person can give when a relationship is breaking down.

"Sometimes [one partner] can be like, 'The way you passed me the butter this morning, I kinda feel like we're going to be over in a month and we need to talk' and he's like, 'I just passed you the f***ing butter, what are you talking about?' and that's how I felt the song should go, 'We're growing apart, you don't spoon any more, like it's all over.'"

Pink - who is happily married to motorcyclist Carey Hart - wrote the track with Nate Ruess from the band Fun and decided it should be a duet, but had to trick him into singing it. "I was like, 'No, this is a story, this is a conversation this song' - it needs the other perspective whether it's a guy and a girl, or two girls or two guys. I came in and tried to convince him that this was how the conversation was going to go and it was interesting you know, he was like 'I'll just do the demo cos I don't know about duets,' and I totally tricked him into doing it, and I am so glad I was able to. I think now he's very happy that he did it, I think it's a beautiful song and I'm really, really proud of it," she added.

My Chemical Romance

My Chemical Romance are to release previously scrapped album Conventional Weapons. The "Sing" group recorded tracks for the record in 2009 as a follow up to breakthrough The Black Parade, but decided against releasing them and worked on a new project, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys instead, which came out in 2010.

Now, guitarist Frank Iero has announced plans to release tracks from the Conventional Weapons sessions. "To kill the misconception, I don't think the songs we wrote before Danger Days... are bad songs by any means. In fact, I kinda think some of them are among my favorites we have ever written. A lot of them are kinda f***ing rad... They just so happened to have been created in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and we as their parents were not ready to raise them just yet... and so they sat and waited (sic)," he wrote on the group's site.

Green Day with their new albums

Green Day think their new album is "epic." The American Idiot hitmakers are proud of their new album trilogy ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tre! and feel the triple format has allowed them to achieve something that rocks "really hard."

"It was time for a change and a new era. You just start with one simple song at a time, where less is more, but we made three albums and it ended up becoming epic. We wanted to make something that rocked really hard, and partied really hard, with a lot of meaning behind it. And a lot of soul. Hopefully we achieved that," singer Billie Joe Armstrong told Classic Rock magazine.
