Adele’s New Album Inspired by Pregnancy

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Pop, R&B / Soul,
Adele's new album will be inspired by her pregnancy. While the 24-year-old singer is known for her songs about lost love and heartbreak, friends say her newfound happiness with Simon Konecki and the impending arrival of their first child have both had a big impact on her work.
"It will be lighter than her last ode to break-up. The pregnancy has had a big impact on her songwriting," a source told Us Weekly.
Meanwhile, the couple are preparing for the baby and Adele is enjoying her time out of the spotlight. "She is lying low and focusing on becoming a mom. The baby is healthy and she's so excited," the insider added.
Writing on her website in June, Adele confirmed her pregnancy, saying she wanted fans to hear the news directly from her: "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon. Yours always, Adele."

Pink Thinks She Sings Better Upside Down

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Concerts / Tours, Performances, Upcoming Releases, Pop,
Pink thinks she sings better upside down. The vocalist has recently been performing without a bungee rope for the first time in four years a device that was used on 2009's Funhouse tour, which featured a host of acrobatics.
The 33-year-old played London's iTunes Festival this week. "This is my first gig in a long while and I didn't know how it would go. I do think I sound better upside down. I'm finding it hard remembering the words singing standing up," she told The Daily Star.
In between the active gigs a few years ago and her new album The Truth About Love, Pink gave birth to daughter Willow. "I miss the bungee. I loved all the acrobatics so we are trying to figure out what to do for the next tour, something rad. It's amazing to be back. I've been pining for a stage. But having a baby changes the logistics of touring. I don't hang out with my bandmates at the bar anymore," the star said.
However she insists motherhood will not alter her personality: "I haven't lost my edge. Having a baby doesn't change your attitude. The new album is about love but aren't they all? I wrote it seven months after she was born."

Tony Kanal, the band's bassist, added, "Honestly ... we just make music that we love and we want to play. We get inspired by something, and we kind of go with it."

Rihanna's last two albums have both had November release dates, so the news about her seventh studio album is in keeping with the singer's speedy work ethic.
The Bajan beauty has been back and forth to the UK this summer, most recently to perform at the London 2012 Paralympics Closing Cermony where she joined Coldplay on stage for a sizzling performance of "Princess of China."

Christina Aguilera will release her new album Lotus in November.
The 31-year-old singer shared details about her seventh studio album in a Twitter Q&A session with fans yesterday, revealing that the record's lotus theme is a metaphor for her own survival and "rebirth."
"Album title: Lotus. Representing an unbreakable flower that survives under the hardest conditions and still thrives. Self expression and freedom [are album themes]. The album represents a rebirth for me," she wrote in a series of tweets.
The feisty blonde also hinted at what kinds of musical influences to expect from the album and promised fans she doesn't shy away from her trademark power ballads: "There will be a 'Lotus' intro to set the tone for the whole record. Conceptually I didn't target one particular sound/genre. There are some beautiful personal ballads on this album. I wouldn't do a record without them."

Lady Antebellum Record a Christmas Album

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Country, Covers,
Lady Antebellum have recorded a Christmas album.
The country group - made up of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood - is following up Own The Night with a festive LP entitled On This Winter's Night, which will be released on October 22. It will feature 11 traditional Christmas songs and one original song.
Dave reveals the album was recorded in the summer, and to get into a holiday spirit they decorated the studio: "We recorded this album in two sections, but both times were in the summertime. It is always weird to be in the studio working on Christmas music in June and July, so we decorated the entire studio, we really did. We brought out lights, fake trees and decorated the place to get in the Christmas spirit. You'd leave the studio, and it'd be 100 degrees out in Nashville, but nonetheless, a great experience."

Nelly Furtado: Being a Mother Has Made My Music More Joyful

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Hip-Hop & Rap, Pop, Reggae,
Nelly Furtado's music is more "joyful" since she became a mother.
The "Maneater" hitmaker is more aware of her surroundings since having daughter Nevis, eight, and says she has a huge influence on her music: "Once you become a parent it kind of forces you to look more outside yourself and become a little more in the moment, which is kind of great because an artist's life can be one of solitude. I find my songs become more joyful, fun and inspired."
Nelly added also said she is more "in tune" with the rest of the world, and produces more collaborations, rather than writing songs alone with her guitar. The 33-year-old singer spoke of her move into Latin music with her last album Mi Plan and how it has boosted her confidence. "I broke into a whole other world. I really felt like Alice in Wonderland, you know, just kind of falling down the rabbit hole. I woke up in a brand new world. Just creating in Spanish, recording in Spanish and performing in Spanish has given me a lot of strength as a vocalist," she said.
