Arcade Fire rented a castle to write and record music for their latest album.

The "Ready to Start" band spent time at Trident Castle - which was built in 1979 and is to be turned into a hotel - in Jamaica before releasing Reflektor and were inspired by the county's vibrant music scene.

"In Jamaica at night you hear the sound systems coming from every corner of the island. It's impossible not to absorb that. The way people relate to music there is really deep. It was great to be a band together and have a shared experience. It was like summer camp but with intense work," said the band's frontman Win Butler.

One DirectionOne Direction is "annoyed" that their album Midnight Memories has leaked online.

The boy band's third studio album is set for release on November 25, but tracks emerged on the internet yesterday, and they are concerned it will affect record sales.

"It is annoying because there's this big build-up and it affects sales. We really want a number one, so we're just kind of hoping for the best now. Hopefully people go out and buy it," Liam Payne said.

Louis Tomlinson is also frustrated and would rather people wait until the official release. "It's just frustrating when you work so hard on an album and you kind of want everyone to hear it at the same time. Some select fans won't listen to it until it's out, which is great. But there are others who obviously can't help themselves," he added.

Kanye West and Kim KardashianKanye West is tipped to feature Kim Kardashian in his new video.

The rapper will premiere new visuals for his latest single "Bound 2" on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and the show's website suggested his fiancee - with whom he has daughter North West - "may or may not" make an appearance when the video streams exclusively on Ellentv.com on Tuesday.

The love song features R&B singer Charlie Wilson and is the second track to be released from Kanye's Yeezus album, which debuted at No.1 on the US Billboard 200 in May. "Bound 2" received general acclaim from critics, with the track's soul sample-based production often being compared to Kanye's early work from his debut studio album The College Dropout in 2004.

The news comes after American singer Ronnie Spector recently described Kanye West as "a d**k," but admitted that she favored his fiancee, Kim. Ronnie - who previously fronted the girl-group The Ronettes - told Noisey.com, "I am not a fan of Kanye West. I don't mind Kim, but I just don't like that guy. I'm not a fan of how he speaks. He's a d**k. I'm sorry. I don't like him. I'm just being honest."

LordeLorde has signed a $2.5 million publishing deal.

The 17-year-old singer, whose track "Royals" hit number one in both the UK and America, has landed a contract with Songs Music Publishing. "She's going to be a really big songwriter outside of Lorde. She's going to have a lot of big songs out there as Ella [Yellich O'Connor], she's a once-in-a-generation type artist," President Ron Perry told Billboard.

The record company is also said to be keen for the brunette star to collaborate with its other artists, including Diplo and The Weeknd, as well as writing songs for others.

Lorde is the first New Zealand singer to score a number one in the US and her track has been in the top spot for six weeks, while her album Pure Heroine has spent five weeks in the top ten. Lorde is also the youngest female chart-topper in the US in the past 25 years and her hit song is still in the top five in the UK.

Boy GeorgeBoy George has revealed Culture Club are going to release new music.

The "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" hitmakers haven't put out any new material since 1999, but the singer has confirmed they will start writing the album in January. "It will be a new record, completely new. There's no point just doing it for nostalgia ... We're certainly going to do it," he told The Sun.

The group's guitarist Roy Hay met up with Boy George last week in Los Angeles to discuss plans, and Culture Club are aiming to record the new record early next year ahead of a release later in 2014. The "Karma Chameleon" quartet - completed by Mikey Craig and Jon Moss - could end up working with Brian Eno, famous for producing music by the likes of Depeche Mode, Coldplay and U2.

"There's some interesting ideas about who we want to work with. It's got to be really good," Boy George said.
