American Idol Source: Don’t Believe the Rumors

An anonymous source reportedly close to the American Idol judge hunt has come forward - secretly - to denounce rumors that the deal with Jennifer Lopez has fallen through. Entertainment Weekly broke the story over the weekend. The source is quoted as saying that all celebs up for consideration have been “really gracious,” and that no “unreasonable” demands have been made during the negotiations.
“Don’t believe everything you read,” said the source. Jennifer Lopez was named, along with Steven Tyler, was a potential newcomer to the reality series, but reps from FOX have offered no comments on the news. Early last week, many media outlets reported that J-Lo was no longer up for consideration for the job.

TMZ’s mysterious sources are hinting that Jennifer Lopez may not be totally out of the American Idol picture—but execs have a backup plan, just in case.
According to one unnamed source, pop/country singer Shania Twain is also on the short list of potential Idol judges in Season 10.
Twain previously appeared on Idol in Season 9 twice, both as a guest judge and mentor to the contestants.

Did Jennifer Lopez’s diva-like reputation cost her a job on American Idol?
According to a source, yes.
Although it had been reported with near certainty that Lopez was going to be a judge on Idol’s tenth season, FOX execs had yet to confirm the rumors. There’s probably a reason for that: she was never officially locked in. Now, it appears J.Lo may have pushed herself out of the running.
“Her demands got out of hand,” an insider told People. “Fox had just had enough.”

Rumor Confirmed! Britney Spears to Appear on Glee

After much speculation, we can finally confirm the rumor everyone wants to hear: Britney Spears will appear on Glee. It’s well-known that the series is planning a Spears tribute early in its second season, and now we know that the pop diva herself will be part of the event.
Glee co-creator and writer Ryan Murphy confirmed the rumor in a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, saying she will “100 percent…be on the episode. She is going to join us for a couple of scenes.”
Just don’t expect the funny series to poke fun at Spears. Murphy said “We are handling Britney with kid gloves.”
Brit’s music will play during fantasy sequences. “Britney Spears is pop culture, and I think she’s been through a lot.” Murphy said.

Paparazzi recently managed to capture pictures of Lea Michele on the set of Glee, and her outfit may give us a big clue about an upcoming episode of the series.
It’s well-known that the show is planning a Britney Spears tribute, and Lea’s outfit is a spot-on copy of one Brit wore in the “Baby One More Time” music video. Could this mean that Michele will lend her dulcet tones to the famous pop anthem? We can only hope!
Meanwhile, the rest of the cast was spotted wearing matching New York City T-shirts. Earwitnesses say they were singing “Empire State of Mind,” the Jay-Z and Alicia Keys ditty.

Glee Gossip: Who Will Carol Burnett Play?

Comedienne Carol Burnett has signed on to guest star in at least one episode of Glee, which will air in October or November. Rumor has it that Burnett - a comedy legend well-known for her work on the small screen - will be playing Sue Sylvester’s mother.
This has got to be one of the greatest casting decisions ever. Carol has won six Emmy awards over the course of her career, and she’ll definitely be a great complement to Jane Lynch’s acerbic character.

Romance for Jason Sudeikis and Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake will soon be “pairing up” with Jason Sudeikis for a project outside of Saturday Night Live.
Next February, the two actors will both voice gay characters in an episode of The Cleveland Show.
“Terry [voiced by Jason Sudeikis] falls in love with a guy voiced by Justin,” creator Rich Appel revealed. Of course, Timberlake - who has made people laugh with late-night sketches like “Motherlover” - should have no problem tackling this role. “Justin is just hysterical!” Appel added.
The singer also has a few big screen projects heading to theaters this year. Justin can be heard as the voice of Boo-Boo Bear in the movie version of Yogi Bear opening December 17. Meanwhile, The Social Network - co-starring Jessie Eisenberg - debuts on October 1.
