Thursday Ratings: Idol Interrupts the Evening

A rare Thursday night episode of American Idol easily dominated the ratings last night. Unfortunately, repeats on ABC and NBC didn’t help.
8pm
- American Idol (9.2/25 in 18-49) pulled in 24.3 million.
- Criminal Minds* (2.0/5) checked in 9 million.
- My Name is Earl* (4.8 million, 1.8/5) was off by 1.7 million.
- Smallville (4.2 million, 1.7/5) added on 400,000.
- Ugly Betty* (4 million, 1.3/4) plunged by 3.5 million.
- Kath & Kim* (3.2 million, 1.4/4) gave up 1.7 million.

- CSI (20.1 million, 5.3/13 in 18-49) improved by 2.6 million.
- Hell’s Kitchen (11.1 million, 4.9/12) had FOX’s best Thursday night premiere numbers in over nine years.
- The Office* (5.7 million, 2.7/7) was down 3 million.
- Grey’s Anatomy* (5.5 million, 1.7/4) lost 8.8 million.
- 30 Rock (5 million, 2.2/5) shaved off 1.4 million.
- Supernatural (3.6 million, 1.6/4) grew by 600,000.
10pm
- Eleventh Hour (12.7 million, 3.1/8) tacked on 400,000 more.
- Private Practice (7.7 million, 2.8/7) didn’t get any help from Grey‘s.
- ER* (4.5 million, 1.7/5) treated 3.2 million less.
