Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers today 98-95. King James scored 41 points to go along with 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Larry Hughes Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Daniel Gibson also helped the cause scoring in double digits for the Cavs. Kobe gave a valiant effort for his team, scoring 33 points with 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Lamar Odom helped out Kobe and the Lakers with 14 points and 9 rebounds.

The game was delayed briefly in the first quarter because heavy rain from outside of the Staples Center leaked onto the court.

Lebron James gave the Cavaliers a commanding lead in the fourth quarter from a jumpshot, giving Cleveland a 94-93 lead. Later on James would also make two free throws giving the Cavs a 98-95 lead.
