Will.i.am Booked to Perform on American Idol

Just one Black Eyed Pea will return to the American Idol stage next month, but he won’t be alone. Will.i.am will team with Jamie Foxx to sing “Hot Wings (I Wanna Party),” which is featured in the animated film Rio.
The Black Eyed Peas performed as an act on the reality series last week, and will.i.am is sure to put on a great show when he appears on April 15.

Angry Lauryn Hill Fans Walk Out on Singer

Lauryn Hill’s tour is drawing all the wrong kinds of attention.
Last Friday, fans walked out on the singer, upset with the show and her performance.
First, Hill was 3 hours late to her own show, which was scheduled for 9 P.M. The former Fugees frontwoman then announced that she was tired of “playing the same music” night after night, and began to perform remixes of classic hits.

Some Happy News for Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson has made recent headlines for her personal tragedies, but thanks to the Grammys the singer/actress has some happy news to celebrate. Nominated for four awards, Hudson may soon add “Grammy winner” to her impressive list of credentials.
Hudson, who won an Oscar for her work in Dreamgirls, said she’s “honored” to be nominated. “It’s been a childhood dream of mine to release an album, so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing,” Hudson said in a statement.
She snagged a nod for R&B Album of the Year, Best R&B Song and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance (“Spotlight”), and Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group (with Fantasia Barrino “I’m His Only Woman”).

Out Today: Britney’s Circus, Akon’s Freedom, Cadillac Records soundtrack

This weeks releases are highlighted by three spotlight albums, the first of which is Circus, which is supposed to be Britney Spears’ comeback album (same thing they said about last year’s Blackout.) We’ve also got Akon back with his new one, Freedom, which features the track Right Now (Na Na Na) that you’ve been hearing all over the radio over the past couple of weeks. Last, the soundtrack to the latest Beyonce flick, Cadillac Records, is in stores as well. After listening, we think this one is worth checking out, as it has a really good vibe. “I have someone else that takes over when it’s time for me to work and when I’m on stage, this alter ego that I’ve created that kind of protects me and who I really am,” explained Beyonce Knowles, singing superstar and movie maven.
Who is this alter ego, this doppelganger who looks like Beyonce but acts provocative? From now on, you can just call Mrs. Jay-Z Sasha Fierce. Her new album “I Am…Sasha Fierce” debuts November 18 and the ad campaign has already begun among a blitz of public relations ops and even a weird MySpace page.
“Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I’m working and when I’m on the stage,” Knowles explained…or should I just call her Sasha?
