Miley Cyrus and Flaming Lips are recording a Beatles cover.
The "Adore" hitmaker and the rock band have announced they have teamed up in the studio and are in the process of creating their own version of the 1967 hit "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds."
Frontman Wayne Coyne took to Instagram yesterday to announce the collaboration. He posted a picture of Miley, 21, in the studio, accompanied with the caption, "Miley in the studio vomiting diamonds while singing Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds!! If you're a Beatles and John Lennon freak you gonna love love love this track!! Got Andrew from MGMT too!!!! [sic]."
Wayne, 53, hinted at a possible collaboration last Friday when he posted a picture of Miley rolling a cigarette, but he failed to divulge too much information. "Recording with Miley... High as f**k..." he wrote.

Taylor Swift, Prince William Rock Out with Bon Jovi
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Performances, Videos, Covers, Rock,

Is Prince William our next big rock star? A video documenting the royal's trio act with Taylor Swift and Bon Jovi (seen after the jump!) performing "Livin' on a Prayer" might convince you if you're actually having a hard time imagining it.
Swift and Bon Jovi were present at the UK's Winter Whites Gala held at Kensington Palace for a fundraiser in aid of the Centerpoint charity. Although Swift performed a song about palaces and princes in a palace with a prince - "Love Story" - folks in attendance were in for a huge surprise when Bon Jovi took the stage, encouraging the British royals' newest father to join him on stage. At first hesitant, Prince William hinted that he'd only agree if Swift would join in - to which she easily obliged (who wouldn't get the opportunity to sing alongside a real-life prince and a living musical legend?).

The "Blurred Lines" singer and the legendary star have already recorded a cover of Christopher Cross' 1980 hit "Ride Like The Wind" for the movie's soundtrack. Now sources say they want to make a video to promote the song but are struggling to find the time. "Everyone's on board for a proper music video, but Will's concerned about his schedule," an insider told the New York Post's Page Six.
The insider says he fears Ron Burgundy will be overexposed but would like Robin to join him on one of his upcoming TV appearances to promote the film.

VIDEO: Miley Cyrus Covers Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness”
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Performances, Videos, Alternative, Covers, Pop,
With her controversial award show performances and shocking fashions, it's easy to forget that Miley Cyrus can actually sing.
The former Disney star covered Lana Del Rey's "Summertime Sadness" for BBC Radio 1, putting a slight country pop spin to the tune. Although Cyrus sounds great on the track, it would've been nice to hear her stray a little farther from Del Rey's original version of the song. Hopefully Del Rey inspires her new work - it's definitely more interesting to hear her belting out notes like this compared to her current material!

- Perhaps weirdly influenced by her new role as a mother, Beyonce shocked Serbian concert-goers by somewhat-flashing them with a glittery leotard complete with bare faux-boobs.
- Those attending the Americanarama Festival of Music ought to be extra-ecstatic for the concert this summer, as Bob Dylan just signed on to perform on the tour alongside My Morning Jacket and Wilco.
- Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has spoken out about Beyonce's initially unauthorized cover of "Back to Black," which is featured in the upcoming film The Great Gatsby.

Beck wants to hear Jack White perform one of the tracks from his Song Reader album. The "Devil's Haircut" musician's latest album is only available as sheet music, as he wants to hear other people's interpretations of his tracks before he releases any recordings of his own, and he's particularly interested to hear Jacks' take on the track "I'm Down."
"Initially, I'm curious to hear what other people do with the songs. I don't want to throw my hat in until later. I sent the songs to Jack White and he was very encouraging. He liked 'I'm Down,'" Beck said.

Bjork Picky About Who Covers Her Songs

Bjork will only let certain people cover her songs.
The "Mutual Core" singer chooses artists she thinks will do a fresh take on her tracks to record their own versions.
"I'm in a protected situation. I've already done my version the way I want it to be. I ask people I already like, it's not like I'm asking just anybody. I sometimes compare it to jazz standards. You hear two different versions of 'My Funny Valentine' by Billie Holiday and Miles Davis and neither of them are correct. I like the remix platform. There are invisible rules but a lot of freedom."

Metallica paid tribute to Green Day after replacing them at a festival. The heavy metal group stepped in for the "Oh Love" punk band at the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans, after they cancelled all forthcoming dates due to frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's ongoing rehab.
Two songs into their set, Metallica singer James Hetfield told the crowd: ''We! Are! Green Day! - Except a little taller!" He later added, "You're hoping Green Day are going to show up, right? So am I. They're getting help. They're getting it sorted out. The world needs them." He also dedicated the track "Battery" to the front man, saying: "This one's for Billie."
