Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift is being sued over a cancelled concert.

The "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" hitmaker is facing a lawsuit after being paid in advance to headline a country music festival in Canada which has since been cancelled, reports TMZ. Promoters for Capital Hoedown - which was due to take place in Ottawa in August 2012 - reportedly failed to put the concert together in time and it was subsequently nixed. Now the company which sold tickets for the event feels Taylor, 22, should use her sizeable fee to refund $1.8 million worth of ticket purchases, according to documents filed in New York federal court.

The singer's representatives contest, however, that her deal was not with the ticket company and thus she is not liable for the refunds. They also claim they have not yet seen the lawsuit.

Taylor has had previous brushes with the law; in 2010 she was reportedly sued by former manager Dan Dymtrow for breach of contract. He claimed he signed the "I Knew You Were Trouble" singer aged 14 and helped her launch her career, but her family conspired to fire him before he could earn a commission from her sales.

Harry Styles and Taylor SwiftTaylor Swift has allegedly penned five news songs about Harry Styles.

Despite the "I Knew You Were Trouble" hitmaker only splitting from the One Direction stud last week, the singer has already channelled her anger into brand new songs about her short-lived romance with the 18-year-old womanizer.

"Taylor writes music in the same way that other women chat to their friends on the phone. It's been how she deals with her emotions for most of her life. Harry and Taylor only dated for a short time but there were very strong feelings, so it's been a tough comedown," a source said.

The 23-year-old country starlet is famously open about her string of A-list exes - who include John Mayer, Taylor Lautner and Jake Gyllenhaal - in her lyrics, but refuses to reveal which of her former flames each song is about, with the exception of her candid hit "Dear John."

Taylor Swift and Jake GyllenhaalTaylor Swift's song "The Last Time" is allegedly about her ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal.

The "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" singer - whose new album Red sold 1.2 million copies last week - has revealed the break-up song is about an "unreliable guy" and refers to a Hollywood lifestyle sparking rumors it is about the 31-year-old Love And Other Drugs actor.

The 22-year-old singer, who dated Jake for a few months last year - told Guy Raz on National Public Radio, "The idea was based on this experience I had with someone who was kind of this unreliable guy. You never know when he's going to leave, you never know when he's going to come back, but he always does come back. It's a really fragile emotion you're dealing with when you want to love someone, but you don't know if it's smart to."

Last year it was reported that Jake both initiated their relationship and decided to end it because he couldn't stand the attention, leaving Taylor devastated."He said he wasn't feeling it anymore and was uncomfortable with all the attention they got. He also said he could feel the age difference. Taylor is really upset. We told her not to move so fast with this but she didn't listen," a source said at the time.
