Miley Cyrus Tour Bus Crash Kills One

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Concerts / Tours, Pop,
A tour bus carrying lighting crew members of Miley Cyrus’ tour overturned this morning, killing the driver.
The bus - one of four traveling near Richmond, Virginia - for some reason went off the side of I-85 before hitting an embankment and falling on its side. The victim, who was pronounced dead on the scene, has not yet been identified. Of the 14 passengers on-board (including the driver), 9 others reportedly sustained relatively minor injuries.
The circumstances of the 8:15 a.m. accident are still being investigated. It’s not known whether rain may have played a role.
The 16-year-old singer, who is set for a Sunday concert in Greenboro, N.C., was not traveling with any part of that caravan. At this time, she is still scheduled to perform this weekend.

Liam Gallagher Feeling Confident Post-Oasis

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Upcoming Releases, Rock,

Liam Gallagher says his songs with his new band are better than before. The 37-year-old singer has been working with every member of Oasis, except brother Noel who quit the group in August, on fresh material and plans to have an album out by July.
He told MTV Italy:
“We’ve been demoing some songs that we’ve had about, that we’ve had for a while. Just doing that, on the quiet, not making a big fuss about it. After Christmas we might go in the studio and record them and hopefully have an album out in July. We’ll do it in a different kind of way now. I’ll try and reconnect with a new band, new songs, and I’m feeling confident about the songs. I’m feeling a million percent confident that they could be better than Oasis.”

The Who May Rock the Super Bowl

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Performances, Rumors, Rock,

The Who is already played three nights a week on CBS, so why not make it a fourth?
The rock band behind “Who Are You”, “Won’t Get Fooled Again” and “Baba O’Riley” (a.k.a. the three different CSI theme songs) is now rumored to be Super Bowl XLIV’s halftime act.
Although the report has not yet been confirmed by the NFL, it would be just like that network to milk a series - or band - to death.
The championship game will be played February 7, 2010 in Miami.

“Man, she’s gonna be like Justin [Timberlake]. She comes from that same musical background, where she’s just got it. Her voice is just there. The best way to put it is she’s special. When I worked with her, I was very impressed. I was like, ‘Whoa.’”

Taylor Swift is Country Music’s Entertainer of the Year

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Awards, Country,
“I’ll never forget this moment because in this moment everything that I have ever wanted has just happened to me.”
Should Taylor Swift start packing her bags and call it a career? One week after wowing critics with her humor on Saturday Night Live, the 19-year-old reached a professional high when she perfected a clean sweep at last night’s CMA Awards.
After collecting wins for Female Vocalist of the Year, Music Video of the Year (“Love Story”) and Album of the Year, she ended the evening with the event’s biggest award: Entertainer of the Year. Swift is now the youngest person to ever win that prize and the first solo woman since Shania Twain in 1999 to do so.
You can see a full list of winners after the jump.

Fall Out Boy Retire Michael Jackson Cover

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Alternative, Covers,
Fall Out Boy have decided not to continue performing “Beat It” - a rendition they recorded with John Mayer last year - in light of Michael Jackson‘s death.
“We never got the chance to meet him. I don’t even know if he heard it. We kind of recorded it on a whim, like, nine months before he passed away,” bassist Pete Wentz revealed. “We’ve decided not to play it anymore. It’s his song, you know? We put it on the record because we did a video for it, but it’s definitely his song.”
Wentz - who writes most of the group’s lyrics - also admitted that he takes great care when choosing the band’s infamously long song titles, but never reveals them until the last minute.
“Lyrics are just like spring cleaning; it just dumps out of my head and leaves Patrick to put it together. Song titles are all inside jokes or references to the songs. They’re not random,” he revealed. “I choose them at the last minute before the record goes to print and then it just pisses everybody off.”

Aerosmith Members Deny Split, Perform Together

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Performances, Videos, Rock,
He may have an interest in doing solo projects, but that doesn’t mean Steven Tyler‘s quitting his day job. In fact, the lead singer made certain everyone knew that last night.
After surprising an audience at a Joe Perry gig, the 61-year-old lead singer told the crowd that he isn’t going anywhere. “New York, I want you to know I’m not leaving Aerosmith,” Tyler claimed. Following his announcement, Tyler fronted a peformance of “Walk This Way.”
That declaration was seconded by Perry on Twitter earlier in the day. “Aerosmith is definetly NOT breaking up. One of the members is doing his own thing and said so in the press. That’s all I know,” he wrote.
