We wondered why we kept seeing the almost intelligible Google logo of late, until we realized it was in honor of 25 years of the puzzle game. Nintendo announces Wii Vitality Sensor

During their E3 2009 Media Briefing, Nintendo announced the Wii Vitality Sensor. Yet another add-on peripheral for Wii, the Wii Vitality Sensor clips on to your finger and monitors your heart rate, transmitting it to Wii and whatever game you happen to be playing. Obviously this fits in to Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus in some form, and could be used in interested ways for other games, but in all honesty, it just looks kind of annoying.

Komodo Retro Adapter

Developer Komodo has teamed with distributors Innex and created a Retro Adapter that lets you connect your NES, SNES or N64 controller (including the Analog Stick) with your Wii console. Plug into an open GameCube port and it will work with both 1st and 3rd party accessories. The Komodo adapter should be making its official debut at the E3 2009 and be available in mid-June for about $20.00.

In a push to get people off their butts, EA SPORTS has created a 30 Day Challange where participants are to use EA Active, a workout game for Wiie. TV actress and host Alison Sweeney, one of the EA SPORTS Active 30 Day Challenge participants, will be on the Ellen DeGeneres show today, Monday 11th, taking Ellen through a workout and giving every audience member a copy of the game. If Ellen has not used a Wii before, this is sure to be an interesting thing to watch. Want to get active? EA SPORTS Active for the Wii will be available in stores on May 19th.

Thrustmaster has come out with two new accessories for the DSi. The T-Standee Charger is a multi-position docking station for the game system that will charge while it is being played. The charger will be out this June at a price of $12.99. The T-Strap Charger is a wrist strap with safety slider with charging case for both the Dsi and DS Lite that hooks up to a USB port. It should be out this month with a $7.99 price.

Nintendo is releasing its new Wii MotionPlus on June 8. The accessory should give gamers finer detail and better accuracy with less movement. Easily attachable to the Remote, it will be available for $19.99.
The company also announced that Wii Sports Resort will launch July 26, a beach themed version of Wii Sports. Throw a Frisbee, cruise on a water scooter and more for $49.99. Each purchase of the new game will include one Wii MotionPlus.

Nintendo finally debuted its DSi yesterday and it will arrive in Europe this Friday. The 3rd generation game dual screen system has already sold over 2 million units since it was launched in Japan last November. Not only can you play games, there are two cameras, a microphone and tools that help create and share content. The DSi costs $169.99 while the DS Lite will continue to be available for $129.99. Their site offers games, including freebies if you buy the portable game system online, a club, newsletter and more.
