The mummified remains of Playboy pinup girl and movie actress Yvette Vickers, 82, were found in her Hollywood home last week. Investigators suspect she had been dead for up to a year. It is one of the saddest stories we’ve ever heard.
A neighbor, Susan Savage, decided to investigate the house after noticing that the mailbox was way too full, with some items turning yellow. “I just had a bad feeling,” she said. Savage climbed through a broken window, moving through piles of junk before she discovered the remains.

Nicolas Cage is a free man… and he’s got reality’s Dog the Bounty Hunter to thank for it. The mulleted TV star posted the $11,000 bond to get Cage released after the actor was arrested on charges of domestic violence and disturbing the peace over the weekend in New Orleans, LA.
“I am truly a dedicated fan of Mr. Cage and will not be granting any interviews about my client, as I wish to respect his privacy,” Dog explained in a statement to E! News. “I performed my duties as a bail bondsman and not in connection with our show. This is what I do for a living.”
TMZ has managed to get video footage of an incident that preceded Cage’s arrest. In the video, the actor appears to be arguing with several people (his wife included) inside a tattoo parlor. According to witness statements, the actor grabbed his wife during their argument.

Paul never stopped smiling during his exit interview. His luck in love has apparently taken the sting from his Idol rejection. “When I first tried out for [the show], it was just kind of for fun, and I didn’t even expect to get this far in the competition.”
He’ll be moving forward with his music post-elimination. “I’ve been writing tons of material while I’m out here… I’ve been focusing a bunch on writing and working hard on stuff that’s coming out after Idol.”

Director Sidney Lumet Dies
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Obituaries,
Acclaimed movie director Sidney Lumet died in New York City on Saturday due to lymphoma complications. He was 86.
Lumet was behind some of Hollywood’s most notable films, including Dog Day Afternoon, Equus, The Wiz and Network. His 50-year film directing career ended with 2007’s Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead. It began in 1957 with actor Henry Fonda.
Fonda was producer and leading man in 12 Angry Men, and went on a limb to hire a young, untried director named Sidney Lumet. The film went on to receive nominations for three Academy Awards (including Best Director) and lives on today as a cinematic classic.
Lumet became well-known for shooting movies in New York, earning praise from fellow directors Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese. He never wanted to retire from filmmaking, and never did. Fourteen of the films he directed were nominated for Academy Awards; Network scored a staggering 10 nods in 1976.

Black Swan Battle: Director Jumps Into the Arena
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Child Stars, Rivalries, Rumors,

The Swangate scandal continues. Professional ballet dancer and Natalie Portman dancing double Sarah Lane is continuing to ruffle feathers with her claims that the Oscar winner barely danced in her award-winning film Black Swan, and now director Darren Aronofsky has joined the fray.
Lane has been very vocal with her claims that she did most of the dancing being featured in the film, though Portman’s husband-to-be and dance instructor Benjamin Millipied and Fox Searchlight have both gone public to say most of the moves onscreen are all Natalie. In a controversial move, videos that appeared on YouTube showing some CGI face-replacement (in which Portman’s face was laid on top of Sarah’s during dance sequences) have magically disappeared due to copyright infringement.

Natalie Portman Dance War Continues
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Rivalries, Rumors,

Looks like we’re going to have to settle this one on reality TV. Otherwise, this back-and-forth in the media just may never end. The debate over just how much of her own dancing Natalie Portman did in the highly-touted, Oscar-winning flick Black Swan continues, and now almost everyone has weighed in.
Fox Searchlight Films released a recent statement extolling their lead actress’s dancing virtues, saying “We were fortunate to have Sarah [Lane, professional ballet dancer] there to cover the more complicated dance sequences, and we have nothing but praise for the hard work she did. However, Natalie [Portman] herself did most of the dancing featured in the final film.”
