EndScore Report: In Your Face Pippen and Goodell

Scottie Pippen says that LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan. Really, Pip?In this edition of "In Your Face," DV and Chris throw down on Scottie Pippen for his remarks last week of LeBron James being better than Michael Jordan. To paraphrase a new movie coming out, six titles is all the argument you need to say that Jordan is the best. Well, on top of everything else, like him transcending the sport of basketball like Babe Ruth for baseball. We also wag our finger at NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell for taking sides. Sure, he's employed by the owners, but when it comes to settling arguments between them and the players, he should at least try to be neutral to make sure there's football in the fall. LISTEN UP!

Michael Jordan Proclaims Derrick Rose as the NBA MVP

Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: Athletes, NBA, News,

Derrick Rose named the MVP by Michael JordanMultiple NBA MVP winner and current Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan named Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose as this season's Most Valuable Player. Jordan, arguably and mostly thought of as the greatest NBA player ever, has won numerous awards during his career in the regular season, All-Star game, and NBA Finals, so if anyone should know how much better a player is than anyone else in the league, it's going to be Jordan.

"I wish man," Rose said. "It's great that he said that. It's an honor. I'm speechless. But I'm just trying to keep winning. The award will come if we keep winning. I'm just trying to play hard and aggressive and with an edge."

It's refreshing that Rose is as humble as he is, but his game has noticeably improved this season. He's shooting from beyond the arch more consistently, finding and setting up his teammates more often, and he's simply taking over games becoming a real presence on the floor. Rose has the Bulls in contention in the east, as well as possibly taking it all this postseason and run the table, winning an NBA championship. Something the team hasn't won since that Jordan guy played.

One Man Mock Draft, Fantasy NBA 2009: Round 2, Pick 6

Description

In a month where Kanye West further distinguished himself with his antics and Serena Williams suggesting she could overcome laws of physics and anatomy by shoving a tennis ball down a line judge’s throat, perhaps what set the sports blogosphere the most ablaze was the Hall of Fame speech from his Airness, Michael Jordan. Something tells me that when this next pick, a two-time MVP, steps up to the podium, he will be nothing but gracious as he reflects on the good life that this game of basketball has given him.

Some might argue against his credentials for being a Hall-of-Famer, but I for one believe it is a no-brainer. Him, Amar’e Stoudemire and the rest of the “7 Seconds or Less” Phoenix Suns brought back fast-break fun to the league.

Round 2, Pick 6: Steve Nash, PG, Phoenix Suns

KD

Oh, Portland. Will destiny link the names of Sam Bowie and Greg Oden together for all time? As the old saying goes, you cannot teach height. You also cannot teach sheer awesome scoring prowess. Heading into his third year in the league, this guy has lapped Oden in career achievement thus far several times over. As a hoops fan, hopefully Oden can overcome his injuries and show the world what he can do. In the meantime, though? Tell mommy to throw the food guide out the window because this season it will be KD for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Round 1, Pick 5: Kevin Durant, SG/SF, Oklahoma City Thunder
