EndScore Report: In Your Face Roger McDowell and Atlanta Falcons

Posted by Dennis Velasco Categories: Athletes, Drafts, Editorial, MLB, News, NFL, Trades,

Roger McDowell acting stupid at the ballparkThis week's "In Your Face" has DV and Chris putting on blast, former New York Mets star and current Atlanta Braves pitching coach, Roger McDowell. McDowell engaged in tomfoolery and straight-up stupidity at the ballpark and deserves the "in your face" treatment!

The other recipient has to go to the Atlanta Falcons for trading five picks (two first-rounders, one second, and two fourth-round picks) to the Cleveland Browns to move up 21 spots to select Julio Jones with the sixth overall pick, a wide-receiver to match up with Roddy White. I guess Jones is some sort of savior, which means that A.J. Green, the first wide receiver selected is a god then. Too many picks given up for one pick, no matter where it is. In your face, ATL... it's not a good week for you sports-wise. Thank goodness for the Atlanta Hawks! Listen to this week's "In Your Face"!

Zach Randolph and the Memphis Grizzlies shock the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs in the NBA PlayoffsIn this edition of EndScore Report, DV and Chris look at what's been going on in the NBA Playoffs thus far. After the recording, the Memphis Grizzlies surprisingly eliminated the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs to complete the series during the first round. By the way, DV and Chris were wrong in their selection of the Spurs to win, but, so were many others. In any case, the Grizz will face the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Other teams moving on from the first round to the Conference Semi-finals include the Dallas Mavericks who will match up against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Chicago Bulls and the Atlanta Hawks go head-to-head, and probably the most intriguing pairing, the Boston Celtics against the Miami Heat. The boys look over their picks (clicky-click here) and will come back at you with their predictions for the second round of the NBA Playoffs in another episode coming soon!

Derrick Rose leads the Chicago Bulls into the NBA PlayoffsIn this edition of the EndScore Report, DV and Chris look at all of the match-ups in the Eastern Conference NBA playoffs with the Chicago Bulls versus the Indiana Pacers, Miami Heat versus Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics versus New York Knicks, and the Orlando Magic versus the Atlanta Hawks. Who will step up in the east? Derrick Rose and the Bulls look primed to take the conference, but the Heat and its Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh won't go down easy. Neither will the "old" Big Three of the Celtics - Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce - however, how will the trade of Kendrick Perkins affect the team. And, finally, how about the Magic and its big man, Dwight Howard. Are there implications to how the team's postseason results will affect his staying or leaving the team? Listen to what DV and Chris have to say!

2009-2010 NBA Southeast Division Preview

Posted by Phil Partington Categories: Editorial, NBA,

Dwight HowardThe Orlando Magic were so close to winning the 2009 NBA Championship, they could practically taste it. However, poor foul shooting by star big man Dwight Howard, and simply being overmatched by the Los Angeles Lakers snuffed that dream rather quickly. However, the Magic are back with renewed spirit and added depth in hopes of getting another shot. Meanwhile, the rest of the Southeast Division hasn’t gotten any easier. Some believe it to be one of the toughest divisions in the league. The Washington Wizards also added depth and seem to be healthier than last year; the Miami Heat hope its young prospects can emerge to give Dwayne Wade a decent supporting cast; and the Atlanta Hawks look to take its immensely talented, but immensely unproven roster to the court again.
