iPad bezel has spot for a camera

Looks like those of you who were sure that the would have a camera were almost right. If the iPad internal bezel component is anything to go buy, it looks like Apple decided late in the game to not include a camera in their soon-to-be-released tablet - that, or they were keeping their options open. In the image above, you see the iPad bezel at the top, and a bezel for a unibody MacBook at the bottom. In the middle is the camera that slips into the MacBook frame, and as you can see, it fits perfectly into the iPad frame as well. I guess this means we can hold out hope for a camera in iPad version 2?

Archos is apparently getting ready to release their own netbook. The Archos 10 looks fairly lackluster and features a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of DDR 2 of memory and a 160GB hard drive. The display is 10.2-inches with a 1024x600 resolution and the mini-PC has 802.11 b/g WiFi, a webcam, one Ethernet and 3 USB ports. Available in both black and white, no date or price has been formally released for the netbook.

Man Uses Remote Access to Catch Thief

Computer ThiefWhite Plains, NY resident Jose Caceres’ laptop was stolen last month when he left it on top of his car while carrying other things into his house. He then used a remote access program to watch it being used and told the police of its location, leading to the arrest of the suspect. Caceres says it took some time because the man utilized it frequently for porn. He eventually managed to catch a name and address when he registered on a site. Back in May, a woman from White Plains activated her stolen computer’s webcam with remote access to take pictures of the man who was using it.
