Iron Chef America

One of the Food Network’s most intense cooking competitions will soon move to Washington, D.C. Address: 1600 Pennsylvania. First Lady has invited Iron Chef America to compete in the House’s kitchens, featuring ingredients from the property’s own vegetable garden.

In the episode, Mrs. Obama will take over the Chairman’s responsibility of unveiling the secret ingredient. The chefs to be featured on the episode include Bobby Flay, Mario Batali and Emeril Lagasse. White House chef Cristeta Comerford will also compete. Barack Obama Makes His Statement

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Specials, CBS, FOX, NBC, Editorial, Video,

In a highly presidential fashion, democratic White House contender bought up thirty minutes of network TV time (on several stations, no less) to directly address the American public he hopes to win over. It was all very State of the Union - and incredibly politically savvy. But did his message strike a chord with viewers?

Replete with clips of Obama’s more moving speeches and statements from fellow Democrats along with high-ranking CEOs and others, the half-hour infomercial put Barack right into the living rooms of U.S. voters. There was no stage, there were no other candidates jockeying for position or good sound bites; there was no or John McCain. It was, all in all, one of the best aspects of the entire campaign season thus far.

Malakar Making His Way to White House

Sanjaya MalakarSanjaya Malakar, recently eliminated American Idol contestant, is off to a post-Idol adventure that might be even harder than dealing with Simon once a week: he’s going to the White House. Just don’t get President Bush started on foreign policy – who knows what sort of drama that might cause? Malakar will attend the White House Correspondents’ Dinner this weekend as the guest of People magazine. Huge stars like John Cusack, Jane Fonda, and Sheryl Crow will also be in attendance. What are the odds that anyone will ask to hear him sing with Sheryl in the room? President Bush, Henry Kissinger, A-list movie stars…and Sanjaya Malakar. Yah, that makes perfect sense. But, Sanjaya won’t stay in the capital city for long – he’s got media to do. The Idol star of the week will appear on the Late Show, Live With Regis and Kelly, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show next week. As for his future musical plans, Sanjaya said in an interview he’d like to attend the prestigious Berklee School of Music. The chairwoman of Berklee’s Vocal Department, Jan Shapiro, said to the Boston Herald that Sanjaya is “real cute, but not much of a singer.” Time for Plan B. Who knows? Maybe Bush will have another opening in his Cabinet soon…and from what I hear, Dick Chaney is still looking for a new hunting buddy.
