• Sesame Street (PBS, check local listings):  Season 39 premiere. “One, two, three, four…chickens just back from the shore.”
• High School Musical: Get in the Picture (ABC, 8pm):  “The contestants get a lesson on how to express emotions without using words.” Tip #1: If you need to cry, cut a hole in your pocket, take a pair of tweezers, and just start pulling. (Thanks, Joey Tribbiani.)
• The Closer (TNT, 9pm):  “Provenza gets in hot water when he loses evidence from a successfully executed sting operation.” Somebody better buy the boss a box a chocolates asap.
• The Mole (ABC, 10pm):  “The mole’s last victim and the Mole are revealed in the fifth-season finale after all 12 players reunite.” If a mole is revealed but nobody’s there to see it, will a show get whacked?

• Teen Choice 2008 (FOX, 8pm):  “Miley Cyrus hosts the 10th annual gala honoring achievement in entertainment, sports and fashion.” If kids are wearing things from the 80’s, could that really be considered an achievement in fashion?
• I Want to Work for Diddy (VH1, 9pm):  Series premiere. “Applicants compete to be Diddy’s next personal assistant.” The more babies you have, the more umbrella holders you need.
• New York Goes to Hollywood (VH1, 10pm):  Series premiere. “New York moves to L.A. to pursue her dream of becoming an A-list entertainer.” Ashley Dupre has proven that you can live in New York and do the same there.
• Luke’s Parental Advisory (VH1, 10:30pm):  Series premiere. “Former rapper turned adult-entertainment producer Luther ‘Luke’ Campbell auditions women for his company then gives his teenage son a lecture about pornography.” It’s The Cosby Show of the millennium.

• Wanna Bet? (ABC,9pm):  “Corbin Bernsen, Tom Bergeron, Rip Hamilton and Melissa Peterman are the celebs placing the wagers. Stunts include a man trying to kick himself in the head 45 times in one minute.” Wanna bet people only know who half these ‘celebrities’ are?
• Paranormal State (A&E, 10pm):  Season Two premiere. “The team investigates supposed activity at a home, including the mysterious destruction of religious objects and the unexplained appearance of dead animals near the home.” Dead animals? Should they be looking for ghosts or a serial killer?
• Make a Move (DIY, 10pm):  “Amy Wynn Pastor helps newlyweds with their eco-conscious home, including projects like a compost heap, a kitchen upgrade and a wall demolition.” Ah, newlyweds. Always so annoyingly optimistic.
• Weeds (Showtime, 10pm):  “In Mexico, Celia discovers the joys of discounted medicine at local pharmacies.” If only she had known about the $4 generics at her local Wal-Mart.

Pamela Anderson: Ready to Get Loose

Pamela Anderson keeps pairs of shoes longer than husbands (she split from rocker Kid Rock after only four months and annulled her marriage to Rick Salomon this past spring), but that’s part of what makes her entertaining. Pam’s life will be the focus of the new E! series Pam: Girl on the Loose, set to premiere August 3.

At 41, I’m not sure Pam can still be called a girl. Currently, the blonde bombshell is living with ex-hubby Tommy Lee - but they’re just good friends. “It’s kinda silly,” admitted Anderson. “I don’t know where that’s gonna go.” The mother of two is staying with Lee during construction of her home in Malibu.

“I’m not worried about cleaning up my image,” Anderson said of her new show. “I’m an exhibitionist.”

The series will start with eight episodes and will not include Pam’s children, at her suggestion.
