The bleeding just won’t stop for Lost. Placed against another two-hour edition of Idol (Thanks, Obama!), the ABC series hit another round of series-low numbers.
8pm
- American Idol (25.6 million, 9.1/24 in 18-49) was up 2.5 million from last Wednesday.
- Survivor: Tocantins (2.3/6) recapped 8.2 million.
- Scrubs (5.3 million, 2.0/6) lost 500,000; Better Off Ted (4.7 million, 1.8/5) gave up 900,000.
- America’s Next Top Model (2.8 million, 1.4/4) slipped by 800,000.
- The Chopping Block (2.6 million, 0.9/2) sliced off 900,000.

Wednesday Ratings: Lost Hits All-Time Low
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, America’s Next Top Model, American Idol, Lost, Scrubs, Ratings,
As I predicted, Lost was not better off with Ted last night. Even though most shows saw decreases yesterday, the ABC series had its smallest audience to date.
8pm
- Lie to Me (10 million, 3.1/9 in 18-49) fell by 1.1 million.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (7.4 million, 2.1/7) and Gary Unmarried (7.6 million, 2.3/7) were both down slightly.
- Scrubs (5.8 million, 2.2/7) raised 2.2 million; Better Off Ted (2.2/6) premiered to 5.6 million.
- America’s Next Top Model (3.6 million, 1.6/5) gave up 900,000.

Wednesday Ratings: Chopping Block Fails to Make the Cut
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Music, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, America’s Next Top Model, American Idol, Lost, Scrubs, Ratings,
Cooking-related shows may serve well for FOX and Bravo, but they do nothing for NBC. Last night’s premiere of The Chopping Block debuted to fewer viewers than Knight Rider‘s finale. (Ouch!) Meanwhile, Lie to Me performed better than expected in its new time slot. The freshman drama worked with American Idol to give FOX two easy victories.
8pm
- Lie to Me (11.1 million, 3.4/10 in 18-49) picked up 900,000.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (7.6 million, 2.1/6) added on 2.1 million; Gary Unmarried (7.7 million, 2.3/7) rose by 2.3 million.
- America’s Next Top Model (4.5 million, 1.9/6) improved by 600,000.
- The Chopping Block (1.4.4) premiered to 4 million.
- Scrubs* (1.2/3) pulled in 3.6 million.

The 12th season of America’s Next Top Model premiered on a healthy note last night. (That’s good news for the show’s 13th and 14th installments.) Even though it faced direct competition from American Idol, the CW program was up 11% from its fall debut.
8pm
- American Idol (22.5 million, 7.7/21 in 18-49) was down 1.8 million from last Wednesday.
- The finale of Knight Rider (5.8 million, 1.8/5) lost 21% of its premiere audience.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine* (5.5 million, 1.5/4) gave up 300,000; Gary Unmarried* (5.4 million, 1.6/4) fell by 600,000.

Wednesday Ratings: FOX Pulls Out Another One
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, American Idol, Lost, Ratings,
A two-hour version of American Idol only gave viewers more reason to keep their ears - and eyes - on FOX last night.
8pm
- American Idol (24.3 million, 8.9/23 in 18-49) did about the same.
- A special episode of The Biggest Loser: Couples (3.3/9) did 3.2 million better than Knight Rider.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine* (5.8 million, 1.5/4) lost 1.5 million; Gary Unmarried* (6 million, 1.7/4) slid by 1.3 million.
- A Lost* repeat kicked off the evening with 5 million (1.7/5).
- Privileged* (900,000, 0.4/1) picked up 40,000.

Lost Facing Direct Competition from American Idol
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, FOX, American Idol, Lost,

It’s time to get ready for another DVR conflict.
Even though most of us have already settled into our Wednesday night routines, the FOX bigwigs have chosen to drive us batty. In just a few weeks, American Idol‘s results show will move from its previous 8:00 position.
Starting March 11, the reality program will be shifted to 9:00. That means freshman series Lie to Me will have to fend for itself in the earlier hour. It also means the ratings juggernaut will now go head-to-head with Lost. Uggh.

Wednesday Ratings: Lost Comes Back to Life
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, American Idol, Lost, Ratings,
Despite a slow decline since its season debut, Lost saw a spark of life last night. Yesterday’s episode saw the return of the Oceanic 6…and the viewers. But, as we know, there isn’t anything Jack or Ben can do to topple American Idol. FOX easily won both categories this Wednesday.
8pm
- American Idol (24.4 million, 8.9/24 in 18-49) did about the same as last week.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (2.0/6) and Gary Unmarried (2.1/5) both pulled in 7.3 million.
- A Lost* repeat (5.6 million, 1.9/5) picked up 1.2 million.
- Knight Rider (5.5 million, 1.5/4) remained steady.
- Privileged* (860,000, 0.3/1) lost 240,000.

MONDAY 2/16)
- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): “Chuck and Sarah go undercover as a happily married couple in surburbia.” A happy couple in surburbia? Isn’t the whole point to be inconspicuous?
- Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 9pm): “The Gosselins settle into their new home after the big move, but there’s still lots of work to be done.” And Kate will make sure Jon knows it.
- Kyle XY (ABC Family, 9pm): “Kyle reluctantly starts working at Latnok to repay his debt, and it’s not at all what he expects. Yet he still wants to quit, until he considers the Tragers’ current financial situation.” Back up a second—someone’s hiring?
- True Beauty (ABC, 10pm): “Contestants walk the red carpet with their parents, but there are also several secret tests of manners going on.” In other words, pushing mom out of your spotlight would be inadvisable.

Wednesday Ratings: Lost Suffers an Idol Blow
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Music, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, American Idol, Lost, Ratings,
There’s nothing like an expanded Idol to give perfectly good shows a hard time. Yesterday’s two-hour Hollywood Week episode contributed to Lost‘s season-low numbers. The good news? The ABC program still had the best demos of any scripted program last night.
8pm
- American Idol (24.6 million, 9.4/23 in 18-49) had 1.7 million tune out.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (1.9/5) rallied 7.1 million; Gary Unmarried (2.1/5) attracted 6.9 million.
- Knight Rider (5.4 million, 1.3/3) picked up 500,000.
- Lost* (4.4 million, 1.6/4) was down 400,000.
- Privileged* (1.1 million, 0.4/1) added on 900,000.

MONDAY 2/9)
NOTE: A President Obama press conference will interfere with the previously scheduled programming.
- The Secret Life of the American Teenager (ABC Family, 8pm): “Ben and Amy’s relationship hits a rough patch when Ben tells her he needs some space.” The pressure of buying a Valentine’s Day gift was just too much for him.
- One Way Out (Discovery, 9pm): “The host braves a high-speed barrage of tennis balls and steep plunges into kiddie pools before becoming the projectile in a human catapult.” Idiotic stunts have just become more financially appealing.
- The Girls of Hedsor Hall (MTV, 9pm): Series premiere. “In the opener, 12 rude and crude bad girls from the U.S. enroll in a British finishing school for a chance to transform their lives and win a $100,000 trust.” The goal? To become the next Amy Winehouse or Lily Allen.
- CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm): “Horatio believes that prominent defense attorney (Sean Combs) is involved in the cover-up of a murder.” Diddy doesn’t cover-up murders. That’s what his personal assistants are for.
