• Behind the Music (VH1, 8pm):  “Usher is profiled through interviews and archival clips. The R&B star discusses his relationship with TLC’s Chilli.” I’d hate to say things are still “chilly” between them, but…
• Rizzoli & Isles (TNT, 10pm):  “Jane clashes with her new boss (Donnie Wahlberg).” You have to hang tough with that guy.
• True Beauty (ABC, 10pm):  Season finale. “The three beauties left are paired with celebrities to party the night away. They then don’t get to sleep it off, but instead must film a commercial about Las Vegas. One player folds like a house of cards from the sleep deprivation.” Beauty sleep is for suckers who can’t afford plastic surgery.

• Little People, Big World (TLC, 8pm):  “Molly gets her learner’s permit, but her driving lessons get off to a shaky start.” Hours of Mario Kart Wii clearly hasn’t helped.
• Chuck (NBC, 8pm):  “Chuck’s lfe takes fortunate turns: Not only does his long-estranged father return, but Chuck scores a coveted job with Ted Roark (Chevy Chase), a heroic figure in his life.” The guy who got Christie Brinkley to jump naked into a pool is a hero to many.
• Surviving Suburbia (ABC, 9:30pm):  “Cynical dad (Bob Saget) accidentally starts a fire in his neighbor’s home after he reluctantly agrees to house-sit.” That’s one way to make sure he won’t be asked again.
• Mystery Diagnosis (Discovery Health, 10pm):  “A newlywed suffers from crippling nausea.” Cold feet is what happens before the wedding.

Friday Ratings: NBC’s New Night for Must-See TV

Thanks to Bob Saget and the Las Vegas finale, NBC stacked up another weekend win.

8pm

• 1 vs. 100 (8.03 million, 2.0/7 in 18-49) gave NBC a nice start.
• House* (2.6/8) averaged 7.1 million over two hours.
• Ghost Whisperer* (1.8/6) was visited by 6.5 million spirits.
• About 4.5 million sat ringside for Friday Night Smackdown (1.3/4).
• Grey’s Anatomy* (0.9/3) triaged 3.5 million.

1 vs. 100 Gets Full Order

OK, I admit it. I watched 1 vs. 100—and it was pretty entertaining. For anyone who is tired of Deal or No Deal, this just may be the change of pace you need in a game show. With solid ratings, 1 vs. 100 was given the go-ahead by NBC, who ordered 10 additional episodes of the show (they already had 5 on the docket). “1 vs. 100 grabbed the public’s attention when it delivered solid ratings last Friday and staked out its own identity to become a great extension of our game-show franchise.” says Craig Plestis, head of alternative programming at NBC. 1 vs. 100 also brings Bog Saget back in the limelight and he does a fine job as host. If you’re unfamiliar with the premise, this game show puts one player up against a “mob” of 100 others—testing their knowledge of trivia. The individual player wins money for each correct answer as more members of the mob who answer incorrectly are eliminated from the game. The twist here is that if the individual player answers incorrectly, the remaining mob members split his or her earnings. The show premiered last week with almost 12.8 million viewers.
