VIDEO: Conan O’Brien Apologizes to Jimmy Kimmel for Rudolph Sketch
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, Talk Shows, ABC, Cable, Video,
Fans of both Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel might have noticed something unusual on their broadcasts recently: similar sketches.
Two weeks ago, Jimmy Kimmel Live was first to air a mashup of Sarah Palin's Alaska with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. (Watch the video after the jump.) That clip was unfortunately followed up two weeks later by a Conan sketch that closely resembed the first.
In response to the snafu, O'Brien issued an apology to the competition -- and made other revelations -- in the message above.

South Park Creators Apologize for Copying Original Content
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Comedy, Prime Time, Cable, News, Video,
Although South Park's creators are known for producing controversial content, they don't usually say sorry for it.
Late last week, Trey Parker and Matt Stone apologized to the writers of a CollegeHumor.com video after they accidentally copied original content. Although the episode ("Insheeption") incorporated several lines from a clip called "Inception Characters Don't Understand Inception," Stone and Parker said they didn't know what they had done.
In an attempt to do an Inception-based episode, Matt and Trey tried to watch the movie for themselves -- unfortunately, they struck out finding a theater showing or a copy of the film. That is when they came across the College Humor clip (which can be seen after the jump).

David Letterman Delivers Apology to Wife
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Late Night, Talk Shows, CBS, Video,
Now that he’s got the disclosure part of the way, David Letterman is working on Phase 2 of his extortion plot situation: the apology.
On tonight’s Late Show broadcast, the host took time out to address the main woman in his life—his wife Regina Lasko. Although they have only been married since March of this year, the two have been dating for over 23 years. In other words, long before he ever started having sex with Stephanie Birkitt. (CBS provided the snippet above from this evening’s monologue.)

Kanye West’s Weak Apology to Taylor Swift
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Music, MTV, Internet,

UPDATE: You can read Kanye’s newest apology here.
UPDATE: You can read Taylor Swift’s response to his outburst here.
Etiquette Rule #213: “If you’re going to write an apology letter…DON’T USE ALL FREAKIN’ CAPS!!!”
Shortly after disrespecting country singer Taylor Swift (and reportedly being kicked out of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards), Kanye West hit his personal blog.
Since we’re currently unable to access the website (has the half-ass “apology” already disintegrated?), you’ll just have to read his
words here.
What do you think about the rapper’s post? Do you think Taylor should even give him the time of day?

David Letterman Issues Apology to Sarah Palin
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Late Night, Talk Shows, CBS, News,

The Sarah Palin/David Letterman controversy has just entered its next and, hopefully, final phase.
On tonight’s Late Show with David Letterman, the host does what many had felt he should have done last week—apologize sincerely to the Alaskan governor. The move comes after increased criticism about his questionable jokes and a scathing response from Palin herself. (The network also lost an advertiser from its website.)
Although a video clip will most likely be made available later, you can read CBS’ transcript of Letterman’s remarks after the jump.

Big Brother 9: Autism Group Demands Apology From CBS
Posted by Jacci Lewis Categories: Prime Time, Reality, CBS, News,
UPDATE: CBS officials issued the following statement in regards to controversial statements made about children with developmental disabilities by a house guest on Big Brother 9:
“We certainly find the statements made by Adam to be offensive, but believe they were countered by the immediate reaction of shock and condemnation from a fellow houseguest, Sheila [Kennedy]. Adam’s remarks would not have been permitted to air unchallenged.”
An offensive comment made by one of the contestants on TV’s Big Brother 9 has a national autism group demanding an apology from CBS. Even more troubling, the man who made the comment is described on CBS’ website as a public relations manager for a Florida-based autism group.
The comment was made during the Season 9 premiere last Tuesday. John Gilmore, executive director of a different group called Autism United, says he has been trying to talk to CBS about the gaffe since the show aired but has had no luck. Now the group is trying to convince CBS advertisers to turn up the heat on the network.
The incident in question happened while Adam Jasinski, who says he works for the United Autism Foundation (UNIAF), was talking about how he would spend his Big Brother winnings. He told his partner on the show, Sheila, that he would use them to open a hair salon for people with developmental disabilities “so them retards can get it together and get their hair done.” The politically-insensitive word shocked Sheila, a 45-year-old former Penthouse Pet. She immediately demanded that he not use that term. Jasinski simply replied that he works with disabled kids all day long so it is okay.

Will Britney Spears Apologize at the Emmys?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, FOX, Gossip, Rumors,
Sources are reporting to US Weekly that we could be witnessing another Britney Spears sighting much sooner than we had expected. The honchos at FOX are apparently talking to Brit’s peeps about a possible Emmys appearance. It wouldn’t be an opportunity for her to redo what she forgot to learn last week, rather it would give her a chance to apologize for her disastrous VMA performance. That would make two Britney-filled Sundays in a row. Woo hoo!
While I’m seriously doubting Spears will be able to weather large crowds anytime soon (let alone speak without backup vocals), I’m sure the rumors of a surprise appearance would be enough to make the ratings-hungry producers happy.
Coincidentally, Kanye West is also scheduled to perform in Sunday’s telecast (he’ll be part of some ‘skit’ based on the music competition shows). So will Kanye now be ranting that he and Spears were exploited by FOX? We should be so lucky!
