Last night’s Battle of the Davids brought monster-sized numbers to FOX. American Idol‘s final showdown actually improved upon last year’s finale. Meanwhile, Dancing with the Stars drew a lot of interest in the later half of the evening.

• American Idol (27.1 million, 10.1/28 in 18-49) was up from last year’s 25.3 million.
• NCIS’ two-hour finale (3.4/9) took in a respectable 16.5 million.
• A Dancing with the Stars* recap (8.9 million, 1.9/5) doubled According to Jim‘s numbers.
• Most Outrageous Moments (4 million, 1.4/4) did the same as before.
• A Reaper* repeat (1.8 million, 0.8/2) did 300,000 better than Beauty and the Geek.

9pm

• Hell’s Kitchen (11.4 million, 5.2/13 in 18-49) was down 1 million from last week.
• Law & Order: SVU* (3.7 million, 1.4/3) took at 2.3 million hit.
• The Reaper finale (2.5 million, 1.1/3) picked up another 500,000.

10pm

• Approximately 20.1 million saw Kristi Yamaguchi win Dancing with the Stars (5.4/14 in 18-49).
• The very last episode of Shark (2.3/6) said goodbye to 10.2 million.
• Law & Order: SVU* (2.1/5) trailed behind with 5.8 million.
