Thursday Ratings: CBS Wins the Idol-Free Night

Despite two hours of repeats, CBS was able to step up and take the night back from FOX.
8pm
- Survivor (13.1 million, 4.2/13 in 18-49) was the most watched show of the evening.
- Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? (9.3 million, 2.7/8) came nowhere close to Idol numbers.
- Lost* (1.8/5) kicked off its block with 5.3 million.
- My Name is Earl* (1.6/5) averaged 4.3 million in its hour.
- Smallville (3.8 million, 1.6/5) was up by 1.5 million.

- Lost (11.9 million, 4.8/13 in 18-49) was the top performer in the demos last night.
- CSI* (11.5 million, 2.9/8) improved by 1.7 million.
- Don’t Forget the Lyrics (8.8 million, 3.1/8) and Celebrity Apprentice (8.1 million, 3.1/8) tied with their market shares.
- A new Reaper (2.8 million, 1.2/3) raked in 1.2 million more than last week.
10pm
- Without a Trace* (9.9 million, 2.4/7 in 18-49) won the hour in viewers.
- Eli Stone (7.3 million, 2.5/7) snagged a narrow victory in the demos.
- Lipstick Jungle (5.6 million, 2.4/7) was off slightly from one week ago.
