Thursday Ratings: Bright Future for FlashForward

A mysterious new program (FlashForward), a tragic storyline (Grey’s Anatomy) and a slumping series (CSI) combined to give ABC wins in both the viewers and demos this Thursday.
8pm
- FlashForward (12.4 million, 4.1/12 in 18-49) was the first series since April 2004 to beat Survivor at its game.
- Survivor: Samoa (11.9 million, 3.7/11) picked up 400,000.
- Bones (8.8 million, 2.8/7) was down 2.2 million from last week.
- SNL Weekend Update Thursday (4.7 million, 1.8/5) tied Parks and Recreation (4.2 million, 1.8/5) in the demos.
- The Vampire Diaries (3.8 million, 1.7/5) remained steady.

- Grey’s Anatomy (6.6/17 in 18-49) had 16.8 million in tears.
- CSI (15.7 million, 4.1/10) plunged 7.3 million from last year.
- The Office (7.3 million, 3.8/10) was off by 800,000.
- Fringe (5.8 million, 2.3/6) took a 2.2 million hit.
- Community (5.4 million, 2.8/7) gave up 2.3 million.
- Supernatural (2.6 million, 1.2/3) only lost 200,000.
10pm
- The Mentalist (14.3 million, 3.4/9 in 18-49) shaved off 1.3 million from its first debut.
- The Jay Leno Show (5 million, 1.7/5) pulled in 3.5 million less than last Thursday.
