WWE Star Ryback Wants to Replace Schwarzenegger in ‘Terminator’

RybackWWE star Ryback wants to replace Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator franchise.

The 32-year-old professional wrestler - real name Ryan Reeves - has admitted he would love to launch a Hollywood career like fellow wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne Johnson and has had a lifelong ambition to play the cyborg assassin character that propelled Arnold, 66, to worldwide stardom in 1984. "I feel like I'd be the perfect comic book villain. I've always said that I've been waiting for the Terminator remake to happen so that I can take on that role. So if anyone out there is listening - the big guy wants to be the Terminator," he said.

Although Ryback would love to play the famous role, the dedicated grappler would only consider an acting career if it didn't interfere with his grueling wrestling schedule: "I'm a WWE superstar first and foremost and I enjoy working the WWE schedule and I take pride in being able to do all I've done - all the live events since I've been here, and being in all the television tapings and working the full schedule, being on the road five days a week and home a day and a half. If we're able to work something out and if we have a weekend off here and there to do a movie or to go that route and still be a WWE Superstar, then, let's do it!"

Bleeding Edge TV 489: Fiesta Movement Pro Wrestling 101

Okay, if you don't know, I used to be a pro wrestler. That's right, I'd put my tights on every week, step through the curtain, and enter a 20 x 20 wrestling ring to entertain a crowd of people, and I loved it. That was a long time ago, and now I bring you the hottest news in the consumer electronics world, as you know.

However, now that I am a Ford #FiestaMovement agent, you should expect to see something a bit more unique here on my channel each month. I'll be doing some pretty unique missions as part of the Fiesta Movement, using the Fiesta ST that was given to me for the duration of the Movement to bring you some cool stuff. This month? I'm bringing you into the world of professional wrestling as part of the June #Fitness theme.

Why pro wrestling? Well, I didn't want another agent to grab this mission and turn it into a comedy act! I saw this as an opportunity to educate the masses about this truly unique artform. I head to the Buddy Wayne pro wrestling training facility to chat about what it takes to become a professional wrestler. Buddy should know. After all, at just 5' 6", he has made a career in the land of the giants, having wrestling for both WWE (formerly WWF or the World Wrestling Federation) and WCW (World Championship Wrestling.) In wrestling, you only look as good as your opponent allows you to look, and Buddy was able to make his opponents look great for 12 years.

Pre-order WWE 2K14 and get the Ultimate Warrior

WWE 2k14 ultimate warrior

Now that Take 2 has taken over the WWE videogame license, WWE 2K14 is being loaded up with the power of The Ultimate Warrior. Nothing like celebrating by bringing back an icon, and with the addition of a character as iconic as The Ultimate Warrior for those who pre-order the title, it may spur more than a few additional sales. The announcement was made official by way of a YouTube video, which you can find below, featuring the Warrior in his signature face paint and garb, cutting a classic Warrior-style promo. Here's what he had to say about his inclusion in the game:

Immortality is inspiration, pure and simple. An example to others that they, too, can do things larger than the life they are actually living, and Ultimate Warrior was the pure embodiment of this belief, in what has proven to be a very attention-getting and inspiring way, said Warrior. It was my good fortune to be his creator and performer, and I am humbled by all those fans who’ve not only kept his legacy alive, but deepened it over time. In 'WWE 2K14,' Ultimate Warrior’s creed, ‘Always Believe,’ lives on.

Chris Snyder, senior director of marketing for WWE2K14 explained why the decision was made this year to make The Ultimate Warrior one of the main attractions this year:

There has never been another WWE Superstar quite like the Ultimate Warrior – his intensity and energy is unmatched, and his legacy is undeniable, said Chris Snyder, Senior Director of Marketing at 2K. Fans love him, opponents fear him and everyone can agree that he’s one of the most iconic Legends in WWE history. Pre-ordering 'WWE 2K14' is the only way we mere mortals will ever have a glimpse into the greatness that is Ultimate Warrior.

The Ultimate Warrior is available exclusively to those who pre-order the game, which you can do right here on Amazon. Again, check out the trailer after the break!

How Zack Ryder used social media to catapult to WWE Superstardom [Interview]

WWE Zack Ryder social media interview

WWE makes it's return to Everett for the first time in a number of years this evening. For those who don't know, you guys are typically in and out when it comes to a city. Aside from Wrestlemania week, do you get to enjoy your time in a given city?

Not at all. We fly in, find a gym, eat, and head to the arena. We do the show, and we leave to do it again. I've definitely seen some cool airports, hotels, arenas, but we don't get to enjoy our time in the various cities.

What would you say would be the best trip you've taken when you've been on the road?

WrestleMania in Orland was amazing. I went to DisneyLand with my family and had a lot of fun. WrestleMania means we get to spend a full week in one location, so we can enjoy it since it's a break from the in and out that we typically experience on the road.

Let's take a step back. I think it's safe to say that the reason we are having this discussion right now is because you took it upon yourself to get noticed in any way that you could, grabbing that brass ring through the use of social media. Wanna tell us about that?

Yeah, definitely! My whole life I wanted to be a WWE Superstar. That's the only thing I ever wanted to be. I got signed in 2006 and got called up to the main roster in 2007…but I wasn't really doing anything, you know? By February 2011, I was kind of fed up. It wasn't my dream to be just "some guy" on the show. I wanted to be one of the top guys. At the time in February 2011, when I started the YouTube show, I didn't have an action figure. I didn't have a promotional 8x10. I wasn't on TV. I was like a joke. I had no merchandise…nothing.

Leaked video shows WWE ‘13 to launch November 1

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fighting, PlayStation 3, Sports, THQ, Wii, Xbox 360,

Recent WWE television spots have been promoting the arrival of a "revolution," causing many to speculate what exactly that would be. As it turns out, the revolution that will be revealed this Monday night on Raw is the WWE '13 video game. Above we have a leaked video that seems to lack sound, showing off CM Punk in the commercial spot, followed by some footage from the game, including a recreation of Mark Henry and The Big Show destroying the ring with a superplex, foreshadowing that this will be something you can do in the game itself.

“Macho Man” Randy Savage dies in a car crash

Macho Man Randy Savage car accident

We're sad to report that former pro-wrestler "Macho Man" Randy Savage has died after suffering a heart attack while driving. Savage lost control of the vehicle (a 2009 Jeep Wrangler,) veered into oncoming traffic, and collided head-on into a tree. He was taken to Largo Medical Center, and died there from his injuries. His wife, Lynn, was a passenger in the vehicle, and suffered minor injuries. The couple celebrated their 1-year wedding anniversary earlier this month. Randy Savage was 58, a former WWF and WCW World Champion, participated in what many call the greatest pro wrestling match in WrestleMania history (against Ricky Steamboat,) and is the greatest pro wrestler to have yet to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. He later started an acting career, which included Savage playing the role of Bonesaw in Spider-Man.
