Clicks Wants $499 Today for a Keyboard Phone That Ships in December

For two years Clicks sold you a keyboard that snapped onto somebody else's phone. Now it wants to sell you the whole phone, and it wants the full $499 about three months before one lands in your hands.
The Clicks Communicator is a small Android phone with a physical keyboard under a 4.03-inch screen, the arrangement you last took seriously on a BlackBerry. Clicks locked in the final specs this week, opened order configuration, and said shipments begin in December. The $499 launch price runs through September 30. On October 1 it becomes $649.

Apple’s Hardware Boss on the iPhone Duo Crease: ‘Hold Us Accountable to That, Please’

"Hold us accountable to that, please." That is Tom Marieb, Apple's VP of hardware engineering, talking to TechRadar about the crease down the middle of the iPhone Duo. Every folding phone shipped so far has grown one, and Apple has now invited everybody to come back and check on his.
The Duo is Apple's first foldable, it starts at $1,999, and it goes on sale October 23. Nobody outside Apple has folded one a few thousand times yet. Marieb's claim is that when you finally do, you will have a hard time seeing the line, and he would like to be judged on it.

Better battery life. When I polled my YouTube community on the one upgrade they wanted most from a new phone, that answer beat everything else by a mile, and the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are the first iPhones where I think Apple has delivered it. After a week with the 18 Pro Max, on days when I didn't top it up, I was ending the night in the high 20s to low 30s. That's while hammering it nonstop to prepare this review.

Your phone's ultrawide is almost always its worst camera. It's the lens you reach for when you want the whole room or the whole mountain, and the one you regret the second the light drops. Oppo's answer on the Find X10 Pro Max is to stop treating it like the cheap seat.
Oppo confirmed this week that the Find X10 line arrives in China on September 22, and that the Pro Max carries three 200MP rear cameras: main, ultrawide, and periscope telephoto. The company says no phone has done that before. Find X series product lead Zhuo Shijie posted the specifics on Weibo, so this is Oppo talking, not a tipster.

A few days before Apple's event I polled my channel on what would get you to upgrade your phone, and 45 percent of you said a big jump in battery life. Then Apple got on stage at Apple Park and said the iPhone 18 Pro Max has the best battery life of any iPhone it has ever shipped. So this one deserves your attention, even in a week when the folding iPhone Duo is soaking up most of it. After a day with the 18 Pro and Pro Max, the feature I most wanted to understand is a set of six tiny blades inside the main camera.

Apple finally made an iPhone that folds, and after spending a good chunk of the day with the iPhone Duo at Apple Park, the part I keep coming back to is what happens when you open it. You can run two apps side by side, take a selfie with the rear camera while watching the shot on the outer screen, or set the phone down half-folded and let it take the group photo for you. It's the most interesting iPhone I've used in years. It also costs $1,999, so it raises some expensive questions.

Apple’s iPhone Duo Foldable Costs $1,999, and the Leaks Called Nearly All of It

Apple let everyone else spend six years working out folding phones in public. Today it showed its own. The iPhone Duo is a 5.4-inch phone that opens into a 7.6-inch one, it starts at $1,999 for 256GB, pre-orders begin October 16, and it goes on sale October 23.
The leakers earned a victory lap. They had the name, they had the roughly $2,000 price, they had the 256GB floor and the 2TB ceiling. They oversold one thing. Apple Pencil support over USB-C is coming later in 2026, not in the box on launch day.

The foldable iPhone stopped being a rumor at about 10am Pacific. It's called iPhone Duo, it opens like a passport into a 7.6-inch screen, and it starts at $1,999. Preorders open October 16.
Mark Gurman had the name, the Apple Pencil support and a $2,000 starting price the night before, which we wrote up this morning. He missed by a dollar. What the leaks couldn't tell you is how Apple got a bending screen to survive a pocket, and that is where Apple spent most of its stage time at the "Surprise and Shine" event.
Gurman Says Apple’s Foldable Is Called iPhone Duo, Supports Apple Pencil, and Starts at $2,000

The foldable iPhone has a name, and it is not iPhone Ultra. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman posted last night that Apple settled on iPhone Duo, with a $2,000 starting price for 256GB, storage running up to 2TB at roughly $3,000, Apple Pencil support, and two colors: dark blue and white. It ships in October.
Apple has confirmed none of that. The keynote starts at 10:00am PT today, which means every line of this gets confirmed or corrected within a few hours. Gurman's track record on Apple's roadmap is about as good as it gets from outside the building, so it is worth taking seriously. It is still not official until Apple says it on stage.

Most book-style foldables open into a shape that is close to square, which is fine for a map and awkward for almost everything else. Xiaomi copied a piece of paper instead. The Xiaomi 18 Fold opens to a 7.58-inch screen with the proportions of an A4 sheet, and closes onto a 5.38-inch cover screen with exactly the same proportions.
It weighs 219 grams, which makes it the lightest foldable Xiaomi has built, and it runs the XRing O3, the 3-nanometer processor Xiaomi designed in-house. The phone went official in China on September 7 and spent this week on the show floor at IFA in Berlin. It goes on sale September 10, one day after Apple's event.
