Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Specials, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Ratings,
There’s nothing viewers like more than watching people give out money. Yesterday, FOX’s Secret Millionaire built upon last week’s numbers and won its hour in the demos. CBS, though, was the top network in both categories this Wednesday.

- Secret Millionaire (7.2 million, 2.7/8) improved by 1/2 million.
- Pushing Daisies (5 million, 1.6/5) was up a notch.
- NBC‘s Little Spirit: Christmas In New York special (1.4/4) entertained 5 million.
- Stylista* (1.2 million, 0.4/1) was down slightly.

Wednesday Ratings: Angels and Reindeers Score for CBS
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Award Shows, Comedy, Drama, Kids, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Talk Shows, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Ratings,
CBS surprisingly did well yesterday without its usual Wednesday lineup. The network’s night of variety - Rudolph, Grammys, Heidi - ended up taking the night’s demos. Meanwhile, crime-free competition helped NBC pick up a rare win with the viewers.
8pm
- Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (4.2/12 in 18-49) drew in 11.7 million.
- Christmas in Rockefeller Center (2.2/6) had 10.4 million feeling festive.
- Approximately 6.7 million watched the debut of Secret Millionaire (2.3/7).
- Pushing Daisies (4.9 million, 1.5/4) was up 10%.
- Stylista* (0.5/1) registered 1.3 million.

NBC Lays Out New January Schedule
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, NBC, Heroes, Cancellations,

Come this January, NBC will be setting aside some dead weight to make room for a few new entries. The network will also also welcome the return of a critical fave.
- As mentioned earlier, My Own Worst Enemy and Lipstick Jungle have both been cut from the schedule. Crusoe, which was recently moved to Saturdays, is also MIA.
- Life, Chuck and Heroes will all get a few weeks off. (The trio will be back in time for February sweeps.)
- Although it was recently banished to DirecTV, Friday Night Lights will live to see another NBC Friday. The drama will return on Jan. 16.
- Hoping to jump in late on the dance show craze, the network will introduce a new reality series from the producers of American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. Superstars of Dance, a show which is being described as the “Olympic Games of dance,” will begin airing on Mondays starting January 5th.
- Deal or No Deal will take a hiatus while another Howie Mandel-related series gets its start. Howie Do It - a hidden-camera reality program - will premiere on Friday January 9th.
- Momma’s Boys, another Ryan Seacrest produced show (can we say Keeping Up with the Kardashians?), will get a home on Mondays right after Superstars.

Thursday Ratings: Grey’s Anatomy Has Best Night in Weeks
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, ER, Grey’s Anatomy, My Name Is Earl, Survivor, The Office, Ratings,
Despite little assistance from it’s lead-in, Grey’s Anatomy saw its best numbers since the season premiere. Unfortunately, the series couldn’t keep CBS from taking its fourth Thursday in a row.
8pm
- Survivor: Gabon (12.6 million, 4.0/11 in 18-49) dimmed by 400,000.
- Ugly Betty (8.3 million, 2.5/7) plunged by 900,000.
- My Name is Earl (6.8 million, 2.6/7) lost 200,000; Kath & Kim (5.5 million, 2.3/6) picked up 400,000.
- Kitchen Nightmares (2.0/5) served up 4.7 million.
- Smallville (4.8 million, 1.9/5) added on 400,000.

Wednesday Ratings: Pushing Daisies Clinging to Life
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, America’s Next Top Model, House, Ratings,
As hard as it is for me to admit, it looks like my darling Pushing Daisies will soon be pushed out the door. Despite an Obama bump for its last outing, the show couldn’t maintain the audience. Yesterday’s episode even performed lower than the last unassisted show. CBS had a good evening though. Season high numbers for the two comedies gave the network wins in both categories last night.
8pm
- Bones (10.7 million, 3.1/9 in 18-49) easily won its hour.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (2.5/7) and Gary Unmarried (2.7/7) both attracted 8.1 million.
- Knight Rider (5.1 million, 1.5/4) lost 200,000.
- Pushing Daisies (4.9 million, 1.7/5) was off 1.9 million from the last episode.
- The finale of America’s Next Top Model (4.8 million, 2.3/6) had it’s best audience in about a year.

Thursday Ratings: ER Fans Welcome Back Mark Greene

Viewers in the mood to reminisce returned to ER last night. The appearance of Anthony Edwards gave a nice boost to the closing series - and network - yesterday. Unfortunately, the ratings bump wasn’t enough to overtake CBS in either the viewers or demos this Thursday.
8pm
- Survivor: Gabon (13 million, 4.1/11 in 18-49) added on 800,000.
- Ugly Betty (9.2 million, 2.8/7) picked up another 200,000.
- My Name is Earl (7 million, 2.8/8) improved by 400,000; Kath & Kim (5.1 million, 2.1/5) fell by a 1/2 million.
- A Kitchen Nightmares block (4.8 million, 2.2/6) was even with last week.
- Smallville (4.4 million, 1.7/4) lost 400,000.

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Music, Prime Time, Specials, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, America’s Next Top Model, House, Ratings,
For the 2nd Wednesday in a row, ABC benefited from non-regular programming. Last week, the Alphabet network had a special episode of DWTS. This week, the CMAs were the one to thank. Yesterday’s broadcast of the 42nd annual event gave ABC wins in both the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- The 2008 CMAs (5.0/13 in 18-49) averaged 15.9 million over three hours.
- Bones (10.9 million, 3.5/9) was up 800,000.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (6.8 million, 2.0/6) picked up 200,000 more; Gary Unmarried (6.7 million, 2.1/5) was up 300,000.
- Knight Rider (5.3 million, 1.5/4) grew by 200,000.
- America’s Next Top Model (3.7 million, 1.9/5) lost 200,000.

Wednesday Ratings: Viewers Suffering from Post-Election Crash
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, America’s Next Top Model, Dancing With The Stars, House, Ratings,
Voters tired of political ads - and television in general - took a rest from the boob tube last night. This meant lower numbers for most programs and a disappointing season debut for Law & Order. (The show had its worst Wednesday ever.) Thanks to a rare mid-week airing of DWTS, ABC was tops with the viewers yesterday. Meanwhile, the Alphabet network was also tied with FOX in the demos.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (15.6 million, 3.2/9 in 18-49) was the most-watched program last night.
- Bones (3.2/9) returned to 10.1 million.
- The New Adventures of Old Christine (6.6 million, 1.9/5) fell by 1 million; Gary Unmarried (6.4 million, 2.1/6) retained most of its lead-in.
- Knight Rider (5.1 million, 1.6/4) made many question why it was given a full season order.
- America’s Next Top Model (3.9 million, 2.0/6) did the same as last week.

Thursday Ratings: 30 Rock Gets Post-Palin Bump
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, ER, Grey’s Anatomy, My Name Is Earl, Survivor, The Office, Ratings,
Politics has been kind to ratings-starved shows lately. On Wednesday, Pushing Daisies received a nice bump thanks to Obama’s primetime ad. Now 30 Rock has Tina Fey’s recent popularity to thank. Last night, the NBC comedy saw its highest numbers ever. But a minor ratings boost wasn’t enough to help NBC. By night’s end, CBS was still on top in both the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- Survivor: Gabon (13.1 million, 4.1/12 in 18-49) was off by 300,000.
- Ugly Betty (8.6 million, 2.5/7) was down a notch.
- My Name is Earl (6.2 million, 2.4/7) did about the same; Kath & Kim (5.5 million, 2.3/6) picked up 500,000.
- Smallville (4.2 million, 1.7/5) remained steady.
- A Kitchen Nightmares* repeat (1.5/4) served 3.6 million.
