MySpace Offers Free Indexing

MySpace has announced that as of today, it is providing free indexing to content producers who want to block users from uploading their copywritten videos. They will do the filtering by utilizing technology called Motional Media from Audio Magic, acoustic fingerprinting invented by David Stebbings. MySpace has already been doing this on a limited basis for the past year by blocking users from uploading audio or video files not authorized by the Universal Music Group. It remains to be seen if this will finally shame Google and YouTube into taking up that same gauntlet.
