Great start to this new storyline. I finished reading “New Krypton” right after I finished reading the latest issue of “Final Crisis” and it was like a breath of fresh air. I could actually understand what was going on and enjoy the story.
I haven’t enjoyed James Robinson’s run on “Superman” so far and I was going to drop it, but with this new storyline, I’ll be staying on. New Krypton will be going through the two main Superman titles as well as “Supergirl”. I’m not happy about collecting an extra series like Supergirl for this storyline and the foreseeable future as the Superman titles along with Supergirl will act together as one long ongoing storyline. For you newbies, this was also done during the 90s.

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Broadband, HDTV, Home Entertainment, Misc. Tech,
In a survey done recently by ABI Research, the results showed that when the dreaded digital change occurs in February, 70% will attach a digital converter. As for the rest of the participants, 10% say they will switch to cable or satellite service, and 20% will just let their TVs “go dark.” Analyst Steve Wilson says the the data suggests that there will be some overall terrestrial viewers who will use other venues for entertainment such as broadband video, DVD rentals, or other online alternatives.

Some of us spent our earlier years consulting the Chinese I Ching to help us make decisions when we were probably procrastinating. The text is created by a set of hexagrams that are arranged in specific patterns in 6 lines for a total of 64 different arrangements. Andy Kurovets has designed a prototype watch that does the same thing. You press the button 6 times to make a hexagram and it will guide you through all those rough spots. We think it would be nice to have our own Oracle around when we are indecisive.

N55 Walking House
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Smart Home, Science, Transportation, Videos,
This house can hustle. The Danish art collective N55 teamed with MIT to make a walking house. Standing 10 ft. high, it is both solar and wind powered, and features a living room, kitchen, bathroom, bed, wood stove and a computer for its leg control. They are hoping that the legs can be mounted under any structure and that modules can be linked for larger living spaces. One of the designers, Øivind Slaatto, plans to live in it in Copenhagen. What a great thing it would be if this prototype became real and could get out of the way of tornadoes, overflowing waterways, and nasty neighbors.

Our fave wholesalers have come up with a new pocket-sized point and shoot 5 megapixel Digital Camera with 3-inch TFT LCD screen. With high res JPEG images and MPEG4 AVI video capability, it features easily adjustable settings such as red eye fix, white balance, and 3 burst shots. The cam is also PictBridge compatible and comes with a USB and AV cable combination and pouch. At a price of only $99.99, we can probably forgive its uncool chartreuse color.

Less than 2 weeks to go before the vote that changes America (we hope.) We just got a peek at the latest in silly endorsements.
