On last night's Saturday Night Live broadcast, the NBC freshman introduced new Thankgiving songs he wrote specifically for Jay-Z, Drake and Biggie Smalls.

Kanye’s all-star album line-up for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

M.I.A, La Roux and Alicia Keys, among others, are set to appear on Kanye West’s new album. The ‘Runaway’ rapper announced his fifth album will be called ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ earlier this week, and while Kanye has previously confirmed certain stars will appear - including Jay-Z, RZA and Beyonce Knowles - it seems his guest list is much longer than previously thought. As well as those previously mentioned, Kanye said he’s also been in the studio with Kid Cudi, Mos Def and Santigold and that indie musician Justin Vernon is “all over” the album.
One track which has already been leaked, ‘Lost In The World’, features Justin’s vocals. Kanye’s celebrity album cast could be part of his striving to fill the gap left by ‘King Of Pop’ Michael Jackson’s sudden death last year, a role he sees himself in line to fulfill. He told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “With the passing of Michael Jackson, I feel a responsibility to bring things to our generation that can inspire and bring real culture to pop culture. I don’t sleep anymore thinking how we are going to fill this gap, and create something to inspire on the level he did.”
Although Kanye has mentioned a large number of people involved with ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’, he lines are blurred between which artists will appear on the commercially released album and who will appear in his G.O.O.D Fridays series, which has so far seen mainly extended and remixed versions of tracks from the albums featuring a number of rappers and producers. ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ will be released on November 22.

VIDEO: Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon Collaborate on Rap Medley

Although we normally see Justin Timberlake doing musical collaborations with Andy Samberg, that doesn’t mean he can’t pair up with other SNL vets.
On yesterday’s broadcast of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Timberlake and Fallon—with assistance from house band The Roots—celebrated ‘A History of Rap’ with an impressive medley. (Artists highlighted in the performance include Jay-Z, The Sugarhill Gang, Beastie Boys, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Missy Elliott, Digital Underground and Kanye West.)
Seriously—is there anything Timberlake can’t do?

Jay-Z, Coldplay to Celebrate New Year’s in Vegas

Pals Jay-Z and Chris Martin have made plans to ring in 2011 together.
On December 31, the rapper will join Coldplay for a double-billing in Las Vegas. That’s when the acts will headline their own sets at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Never heard of the Cosmpolitan? Well, that’s because the casino/resort doesn’t even open until December 15.
The musical event, which will be broadcast on the hotel’s large marquee, is considered part of a three-day, invitation-only celebration.

Glee didn’t just top the ratings charts last season, it orchestrated plenty of musical chart-toppers in its own right. The September 21 premiere of Season 2 will be jam-packed with exciting tunes that represent a mix of musical genres.
Jay-Z‘s “Empire State of Mind,” Poison’s “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” Lady Gaga’s “Telephone,” Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire” and three Broadway standards—“What I Did for Love,” “Getting to Know You” and “Listen”—will all be featured in the premiere episode.

Mix Tape: Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah, Jay-Z and U2

-Dolly Parton and Queen Latifah are teaming up for a new musical project. The two will star in Joyful Noise, a movie about a church choir they want to save.
-Interesting tweets aren’t the only things Kanye West has to offer these days. West has announced that he’ll be “dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas.” The track could be a Kanye tune or a “new Jay song etc.” He’s calling the event “good Fridays.”
-Speaking of Jay-Z, the rapper will be joining U2 for stops in Australia and New Zealand. Tickets for the five dates - Auckland, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Perth - will go on sale starting September 3. That leg of the tour begins November 25.
-Singer Faith Evans was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department over the weekend for suspicion of DUI. Notorious B.I.G.‘s widow, who had her car impounded, is prepping to release an album in October.

-A surprise Jay-Z performance outside David Letterman’s studio will not happen on Monday. A permit was not granted for the concert by New York City officials.
-A future reunion for Jay-Z’s wife (Beyonce) and the other Destiny’s Child ladies will also not happen. Ex-manager Matthew Knowles squashed all rumors about a performance or an album.
-According to one person “A Day in the Life” was worth $1.2 million. That’s how much handwritten lyrics to the John Lennon-penned song were sold for this week.
-Please don’t let me be misunderstood. Mary J. Blige will be playing Nina Simone in a movie about the singer’s life. Shooting on Nina will start this fall.
-Sophie B. Hawkins (remember her?) is donating all proceeds from her song “The Land, the Sea and the Sky” to help clean-up efforts in the Gulf area. The song is available on iTunes.

-Are the days of big Lilith Fair tours already over? Organizer Sarah McLachlan admits ticket sales for the 2010 version are “pretty soft.”
-Jay-Z and Eminem will both be in an Empire State of Mind when they perform together at Yankee Stadium on September 13. That event will be preceded by a joint Comerica Park appearance in Detroit on Sept. 2.
-Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton will soon be making sweet country music together. The two artists became engaged earlier this month.
-Greyson Chance, the YouTube star who sang “Paparazzi,” now has a record deal with Interscope Records. I wonder if he’ll finish sixth grade first.
-Norway’s a-ha played their last US concert last weekend. The “Take on Me” singers will be disbanding at the end of this year after nearly 30 years together.
