Slipknot to Headline Download 2013

Slipknot will headline Download 2013.

The "Wait and Bleed" hitmakers will take to the stage at the rock event held at Donington Park in Derbyshire, England, on Friday June 14, 2013. They join Iron Maiden and Rammstein, who will headline the festival on Saturday June 15 and Sunday June 16 respectively.

"We are extremely honored to have been asked once again to headline the Download Festival. This most definitely will be an experience not to be missed. Every time we've played Download we have created memories. It's always good to have the church of the Knot, the altar of the Knot, giving the sermon of the Knot to the congregation of the Knot, the culture of the Knot. This summer cannot come soon enough. Partake in the imagination or don't b**ch," said Slipknot's percussionist Shawn Crahan, who is also known as Clown.

They’ve been raking in rave reviews since their 2006 live debut, and the early buzz on War Tapes earned airplay on such tastemaker radio stations as BBC Radio 1 and Live 105 in San Francisco, while “Dreaming of You” was aired on NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly (and “The Night Unfolds” for a week in March).

Who says Christmas only comes once a year?

Starting today, fans can download Coldplay‘s new live CD for free. The nine-track album, LeftRightLeftRightLeft, was recorded during various stops on the Viva La Vida tour.

Those who attend one of the group’s remaining dates (outside of festivals) will get a complimentary hard copy. Others can simply enjoy the tracks via the band’s website (until the current tour ends).
