Amy Winehouse Pleads Guilty to Assault

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, R&B / Soul,
Amy Winehouse has pleaded guilty to common assault and disorder.
The “Back to Black” singer appeared in Milton Keynes Magistrates Court this morning to answer charges relating to an incident last month, where she lashed out at a theatre manager following a foul-mouthed outburst.
The troubled star - who was charged under her married name of Amy Civil - was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay $138 in costs and $163 in compensation to her victim, front of house manager Richard Pound.
Passing sentence, district judge Peter Crabtree said it was clear alcohol had paid a massive part in the incident. “Mr. Pound is a person whose job involves interaction with the public. If he’s assaulted he deserves the court’s protection. In this case it’s obvious that alcohol played its part,” he stated.

Blur drummer Dave Rowntree said it’s likely the band will perform again given the success of last summer’s gigs.
When asked if they would be the last shows, he said: “I hope not. We’ve never said anything like that, that would be a crazy thing to say. I’m sure we’ll play together again, why wouldn’t we.”
“It was great, the sun was shining, I was out with my mates on the road just like the old days,” Dave said about their recent performances. “I’d die a bitter man had I not been able to play in front of hundreds of thousands of people! I don’t know why, maybe that makes me weird, maybe that’s quite selfish of me but I would.”
Rowntree also told Absolute Radio that he does not listen to the band’s old music. “Why would I do that? I listen to new music. No you don’t revisit stuff like that unless you have to do you?” he said.

Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley were joined by three thousand fans at Graceland today to celebrate what would have been Elvis Presley’s 75th birthday. Some fans traveled from parts of Europe to be in attendance.
Presley died in 1977. He was 42 at the time and the unrivaled King of his rock n roll music genre.
“It’s certainly bittersweet,” Queen Priscilla remarked. Her own relationship with Elvis was purportedly rocky and ended in divorce. Their only offspring, Lisa Marie, was in attendance with her children.
Two of Presley’s grandchildren cut a large birthday cake, which was shared with the waiting crowd. “He would have been very, very proud, absolutely very proud of his grandchildren,” Priscilla said of Elvis.

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Collaborations, Performances, Rumors,
Susan Boyle - whose debut album I Dreamed a Dream was the fastest-selling debut LP ever released by a woman - is planning to team up with Italian operatic legend Andrea Bocelli for a new TV talent show.
The pair will sing together on ITV1’s Pop Star to Opera Star, where pop musicians will compete against each other by singing classical arias.
“Susan has held Andrea off the top of the US charts for weeks - it’s incredible. But he holds no grudges, he joked that he ‘must sing with this amazing woman,’” a source told The Sun.
When they perform together, the pair are expected to duet on one of Grammy-nominated Andrea’s most famous songs - either “Time To Say Goodbye,” which he famously performed with Sarah Brightman, or “The Prayer,” which he sang with Celine Dion.
