Christina Aguilera Concert Tour Postponed

Christina Aguilera said she’s been doing things that she “normally won’t do” - and this might apply.
Although the singer was set to begin a 20-city tour on July 15, Aguilera has decided to postpone those stops until sometime next year.
While most have been blamed lukewarm response to her single “Not Myself Tonight” for the delay (the song currently stands at #89 on the iTunes chart), Live Nation claims the singer is simply too busy.
“[Aguilera] felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour date, this wasn’t possible,” the concert promoter said in a statement.

Paul Gray, best-known as the bass player in hardcore band Slipknot, was found dead in his Urbandale, Iowa hotel room on Monday.
Gray, also known as #2 and The Pig, will be autopsied on Tuesday. Investigators related to the case say no foul play is suspected.
Paul was one of the three original members of the band, which has earned a total of 7 Grammy Award nominations. “Before I Forget” won in 2006 for Best Metal Performance.
Gray was busted for cocaine possession in 2003, resulting in a rare photograph of the performer’s face. The bassist habitually wore a mask while playing on stage.

Heavy metal legend Ronnie James Dio has died.
The 67-year-old musician - who replaced Ozzy Osbourne as the frontman of Black Sabbath in 1979 - passed away Sunday in a Houston hospital after losing his battle with stomach cancer.
“Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7.45am 16th May. Many, many friends and family were able to say their private goodbyes before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he was loved by all,” Wendy, his wife and manager, wrote on his official website.
“We so appreciate the love and support that you have all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever,” she added.

Rolling Stones Discussing Possible New Album

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Rumors, Rock,

Keith Richards will be meeting with Mick Jagger soon to discuss a new Rolling Stones album.
The guitarist has revealed the band - also consisting of guitarist Ronnie Wood and drummer Charlie Watts - are on the verge of reconvening to record a new LP, as long as singer Mick gives it the green light.
“I don’t know, I’m going to hopefully find out soon. I’m going to be seeing Mick next week or something, so I’m going to try and screw some information out of him,” Richards said about the group’s possible plans.
“You’ve got to have everybody want to do it, so I usually wait for a call from Mick saying, ‘Let’s make something, let’s do something,’ because without his actual ‘want to do it’, then there’s not much point. But I’m always working, I’ve got ideas for stuff, but I haven’t put them together yet with Mick,” he added.

Clay Aiken’s fifth studio album, Tried and True, will be available for purchase on June 1. Now, the big question: are you going to buy it?
“To me, older songs are more melodically appealing and beautiful,” Aiken explained his musical stylings. “Doing this album was an opportunity to just be myself.” The album will take fans back to the early days of Aiken, when he crooned softly to delight all the ladies.
“Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,” “Misty” and “Suspicious Minds” are included on the album. “Tried and True” also features Aiken singing “Mack the Knife,” and “Unchained Melody,” tunes he crooned on American Idol’s second season on his way to the runner-up position.

Is Janet Jackson Done Recording Albums?

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Pop,

Janet Jackson may stop recording LPs altogether and focus solely on producing singles.
Her ex-boyfriend, producer Jermaine Dupri, said: “I can tell you that she’s not working on an album. We just did the one song ‘Nothing’ for the Why Did I Get Married Too? soundtrack… Last time I heard she really didn’t want to do an album. She wanted to just do singles every once in a while. She’s looked at the marketplace -albums are not really doing what they usually do when you put all this budget out there. Janet is just trying to figure out her landscape.”

Embrace yourself for the following, strange revelation: Jack White likes to pretend he’s Lady Gaga.
The singer, guitarist and drummer - who is most famous for his band The White Stripes - tried to think like the flamboyant “Telephone” singer when writing a track for his new album with The Dead Weather, Sea of Cowards.
“I was thinking of the type of song a contemporary musician would write, so I started thinking about Lady Gaga. I started thinking of how she would write the music to this song and got quite into being Lady Gaga in an odd way.”
Despite Jack’s foray into Lady Gaga musical territory, the rocker insists the group’s second album builds on the sound established on their debut, Horehound, which was released last year and was recorded quickly in order to capture the band’s energy. Jack - who is joined in the group by Alison Mosshart, Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence - added, “Musically it’s a more powerful, more intense, deeper, bluesier, and heavier at all points. It’s such a fast progression from first to second album, and a totally different sound.”
