Dwayne Johnson Is 2013’s Top-Grossing Actor

Dwayne JohnsonDwayne "The Rock" Johnson has been named 2013's top-grossing actor.

The four movies the 42-year-old star appeared in this year - Fast & Furious 6, G. I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain, and Snitch - banked a collective $1.3 billion at the global box office, putting him just ahead of second-placed Robert Downey Jr., who only released one movie in 2013, the highest-grossing production Iron Man 3, which took $1.2 billion.
Despicable Me 2 star Steve Carrell ranked third, with his work - including The Way Way Back and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone - bringing in $964 million, while WWE Superstar Dwayne's Fast & Furious 6 co-star, Riddick actor Vin Diesel placed fourth with $887 million.

Gravity and The Heat's successes with audiences helped propel Sandra Bullock to number five in the list - compiled by Forbes - with her movies grossing a total of $862 million this year. In sixth place was another Fast & Furious 6 actor, the late Paul Walker, who passed away last month after a car accident, bringing in $789 million, all of which came from the latest installment of the action franchise.

‘Hangover III’: the Hangover That Just Won’t End

The Hangover Part III

Toy Story 3, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade and Return of The Jedi are some of the most well reviewed films of the last 30 years. They are considered great films despite being the third film in a successful franchise. The Hangover III won't go down in history as the worst threequel of all-time, but it definitely forces itself into the discussion with characters that haven't changed one bit since the first film and a stale formula that expired about 5 minutes into Part III.

One of the things the things the film has going for it is its return to gags that center themselves around the repartee (if you can call it that) between the three major characters. Too bad this film forces Leslie Chow down our throats for the majority of the 100 minute running time, whom I have deemed the Jar Jar Binks of comedy films. Okay, maybe he's not that bad, but part of the charm of Mr. Chow in previous Hangover installments was the fact that he showed up when we least expected it.

‘The Internship’: A Watered Down ‘Wedding Crashers,’ Mostly Bores

Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in 'The Internship'

The Internship is one of those comedies you keep hoping will be better but deep down in your heart you knew all along that it was really just a quick cash grab.

At least that's what I felt while sitting through the latest Owen Wilson and Vince Vaugh vehicle where they try to revive their struggling careers by taking on internships at of all places, Google. The central characters are mid 40's and after being fired from a sales company that has gone belly up, they embark on a trip to California to take internships at Google, the internet search king.  Running gags ensue and much of the slang the kids use is meant to be seen as over the heads of Wilson and Vaughn. Almost all of the slang used by the young co-stars is very popular and the look of bewilderment on their faces would lead one to believe that the two actors were portraying characters in their 70's rather than 40's. This running gag gets old pretty quickly.

Justin Timberlakes Helps Co-Stars’ Cannes Experience

Justin Timberlake at the Cannes Film FestivalJustin Timberlake has been helping fellow stars enjoy the Cannes Film Festival experience.

The actor-and-musician has been at the annual event - which runs from 15 to 26 May - with his Inside Llewyn Davis cast-mates and he's been helping everyone make the most of the opportunity. At the screening of the drama on Sunday, the actors were assembled on the steps of the theater before being rushed into their seats and Justin's co-star John Goodman realized he didn't have time to get through the crowd to take a photograph of their big moment.

"As they were yanking us in I said, 'Give me your phone' and I jetted out there. I took a picture of it and brought it back in and gave it to him. Everything around here is late except for the screening of the movie," the 32-year-old star told USA Today.

Monsters, Inc. Blu-ray review

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Disney, Animation, Family, Comedy, DVD Reviews,

Monsters Inc Blu-ray reviewMonsters, Inc. is the fourth feature-length film put out by , and in our opinion, it’s the one that pretty much put a stamp on the company’s reputation for their superior work in combining great storytelling, well-thought out characters, and mind-blowing technology. Monsters, Inc. hit theaters in 2001, which happens to be the same year that Shrek made his big screen debut, but Monsters ended up grossing more in the end. Part of the allure was the way Pixar pioneered the CG-animation to a whole new level of realism. The textures of the skin, scales, and especially fur on the animals was something not yet seen, and any viewer was impressed. Now that the movie is available on , we get to enjoy those details all over again. Of course, our Monsters, Inc. Blu-ray review will be focused on much more than just the visuals, but we have to say, it’s hard not to notice. wanna know if Monsters, Inc. on Blu-ray is worth it? Read on.
