Madonna Wants to be President

The pop superstar believes she would do a great job if she was able to take control of the country and her main goal would be to stop the country wasting money on "weapons of mass destruction."
"You can't really change much in one day. I think I would like to be president for a longer time. I wouldn't spend as much money for weapons of mass destruction but instead for education and art," she said when asked what she would do if she was President of the United States for one day.
Although she has achieved worldwide success, Madonna's ambition and drive has not diminished over the years. The 53-year-old singer attributes her success to her thirst for reinvention and never taking anything for granted: "It's harder to stay famous than become famous. I don't think there's a rule for that (staying successful). You have to really love what you're doing. You have to feed your soul with ideas and you're not allowed to stop growing as a human. That's what helps to create art. When it comes to my work I don't take anything for granted."

If you didn’t actually watch the signing of the historic health care reform bill, you definitely heard about it or saw the video replay - and not for the reasons most people might think.
As he shook the President’s hand in historic Washington, D.C., while he was witness to the signing of a large piece of legislature, Vice President Joe Biden dropped the f-bomb. Oops. You can see and hear the comment in the video above - listen closely for it right around the 14-second mark.
Joe Biden’s comment (which was “This is a big f—-ing deal”) has now been immortalized on a T-shirt, which you can purchase on the official Barack Obama Web site. The shirt features the date of the signing of the bill and the letters “BFD” in big black type. This is not an April Fool’s joke (at least, we don’t think so), and sources say the slightly tongue-in-cheek T is well and truly backed by the Democratic National Committee.

Google, the most popular Web site in the United States (Alexa Top 100), has the honor of providing this interesting link. Sure, it looks like some sort of promotional thing, but click the link and you’ll go straight to the White House (online), which is now open for your questions.
“Many of you are worried, and have a lot of questions,” President Barack Obama says in the online message, which explains an upcoming event. He will host a Town Hall-style meeting which will be broadcast on Thursday at 11:30 am Eastern. He’ll answer the questions provided by people online, questions which may be submitted in text or video format. The topics provided include education, home ownership, health care reform, retirement security, financial stability and the budget.

If you didn’t catch him giving out his March Madness picks on ESPN, trading quips on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno or looking appropriately grave during his in-depth 60 Minutes interview, you might have been among the thirty million who watched Barack Obama’s second press conference.
During the first sixty-odd days of his reign as President of the United States, Obama has been on almost every television channel at least once. You could build a respectable video library with clips of his appearances found on YouTube alone.
We now know that this national leader thinks riding on Air Force One is “cool,” enjoys a game of basketball whenever he can get a chance and hopes to soon take on the health care problems of the country. We know who he’s rooting for in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, that he’s not a great bowler and that he pretty much has his hands full dealing with the AIG bonuses (and their repercussions).

George W. Bush Decides to Write a Memoir

George W. Bush, the forty-third president of the United States of America, will put his thoughts to paper in a new memoir. The working title of the book is Decision Points, and the AP is reporting that it should be ready for publication sometime next year.
“I want people to understand the environment in which I was making decisions,” W. said over the phone to Associated Press reporters. “I want people to get a sense of how decisions were made, and I want people to understand the options that were placed before me.”
Bush famously coined the phrase “The Decider,” a title which he gave himself in defense of his War on Terror. Evidently, the book will explain to the public just what being The Decider means - in Bush’s mind, anyway. The memoir will explore a wide range of decisions, including his vice president selection of Dick Chaney.
No financial details on the book have been released.

“Pumpkin and Pecan are hereby granted a full and unconditional president pardon,” Bush announced Wednesday, much to the relief of the two plump birds. “In recent weeks, I’ve talked about sprinting to the finish,” W. smiled at the cameras. “Yet, I’ve assured these turkeys they will not be trotting to their finish.”

“God knows I fought hard for the other side,” The View’s Elisabeth Hasselbeck admitted on-air. “Today is a victory for this country,” she even managed a smile. “No one lost today.” Her comments, a shade different than her rabid Republican rantings of episodes past, are similar to the words of other celebs who today are celebrating a page in history. Vice President Palin: Is the World Ready?

Pundits and political professionals have spent the last several months repeatedly asking the same question: is America ready to be led by someone who is outside the accepted status quo? In other words, could we have a non-white President? It’s been one of the hottest topics of the year, and it gave Barack Obama a lot of attention with the press. That is, until McCain pulled his trump card.
Otherwise known as Sarah Palin. Attractive, conservative, Yankee-ish and much, much younger than McCain, Palin has helped to change the feel of the entire campaign. Could she change the entire election? The media has been asking, for several months, if America is really ready to be led by a black man. Now, there’s another big question on the table. Is the world ready for the likes of Sarah Palin - that self-styled bulldog-in-lipstick-hockey-mom who can’t keep her Yahoo business private and somehow found herself on the nation’s biggest political stage?
Not that it matters much, but Matt Damon doesn’t seem to think so.
