Russell Brand Hands Himself Over to Police

Russell Brand has handed himself over to police today after a warrant was issued for his arrest in the US.
The Arthur star turned himself into custody after law enforcement in New Orleans issued a warrant following his throwing of a photographer's phone into the window of a nearby office building on Monday. Although the window was repaired for $240 soon after the incident, the warrant continued to stand.
Russell - who is in the city shooting a movie - was being held on $5,000 bail for simple criminal damage, but has paid the money and has since been released, according to X17Online.com.
In a police report, paparazzo Timothy Jackson claims he was with a group of photographers when he spotted the star and began taking pictures of him on his phone from his car. Russell took the phone and threw it at an office window. A man from inside the office said the actor offered to pay for the damage and that the phone was returned to the photographer.

Lady Gaga Fears Princess Diana Death

Lady Gaga worries she may die as a "martyr for fame" like Princess Diana. The "Born This Way" singer is writing a track about the late British royal - who died aged 36 in a car accident in Paris in 1997 - and fears she may end up losing her life in a similar fashion.
"Gaga has always been absolutely fixated on Diana and sees herself as a 21st-century incarnation of her. She knows she is almost as recognizable as Diana and is hounded by photographers and fans on the same level. Gaga has had dreams about dying the same way as her and has genuine fears that her fame could literally kill her, either in a chase or at the hands of crazies," a source said.
Gaga's earlier single, "Paparazzi," was also about the perils of celebrity and was also written with the tragic figure of Diana in mind. The pop superstar has said, "Diana was the most iconic martyr of fame. She died because of it."
In 2009, Gaga performed 'Paparazzi' at the MTV Video Music Awards, with her appearance culminating in her staging a fake death, with her covered in fake blood and hanging from the ceiling.

When celebrities attempt to avert the paparazzi's gaze, they usual don a hat and shades or -- on the rare occasion -- a fake mustache (Charlie Sheen, anyone?). Apparently no one felt the need to tell this info to Muse rocker Matt Bellamy, as he was photographed in London sporting a plastic bag over his head.
The musician was seen with girlfriend Kate Hudson, who took to the normal hoodie-and-sunglasses look herself. In fact, she probably should have suggested that he follow suit.
If anything, wearing a "disguise" like this is sure to have the photographers hounding him even more! Hopefully he's learned his lesson; however, I can't help but imagine what other creative concealment he's got up his sleeve.

David Arquette played it pretty cool on the streets of LA yesterday, despite being followed by paparazzi as he tried to take his daughter out to lunch.
Arquette was very quiet as paps shouted comments toward him, somberly answering that he and Courteney Cox are “best friends” when asked about how he’s doing. You can see him in the video above. The newly-separated Arquette also recently conducted an interview with Howard Stern, where he was much more talkative.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart Spotted at Romantic Dinner

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were spotted enjoying a romantic meal in Hollywood on Saturday.
The Twilight co-stars - who are believed to have been dating since meeting on the set of first movie in the vampire franchise in 2008 - surprised diners with their affectionate display at Soho House restaurant.
“They were staring at each other throughout dinner and kept stealing quick kisses from one another during the night. Rob’s arm was around her for most of dinner and they kept looking at each other and giggling throughout the evening. They are definitely into each other,” an onlooker said.
The source added that despite being joined by a large group of friends, the pair didn’t leave each other’s sides all night, while a smitten Robert only had eyes for his girlfriend.
“They were by each other’s sides the entire night. After dinner, Rob, Kristen and their friends moved to the patio where the group was smoking and the guys were drinking. Everyone was laughing and having a good time together, but you could tell Rob was doting on Kristen and making sure she was comfortable. They were next to each other everywhere the group went,” the onlooker added.

“I’m taking responsibility for my actions in the whole thing. It was a freak accident,” these were the words of photog Carol Williams, the unfortunate victim in a hit-and-run accident involving heiress Paris Hilton and her current man toy Cy Waits. “My foot was in the wrong place at the wrong time,” Williams said.
The photog’s foot was run over in the paparazzi rush to snap Paris Hilton, who was enjoying an evening out of the town with her boyfriend. Williams says she was around the corner taking pictures of Nicky Hilton when her colleagues began to swarm Paris.

Russell Brand Arrested at LAX

It hasn’t been a good week for the paparazzi.
On Thursday, Adam Lambert allegedly assaulted a photographer while in Miami Beach.
A day later, Russell Brand was involved in his own scuffle – this one at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). After getting physical with several photographers, he was placed under citizen’s arrest by one of the cameramen. The actor/comedian was officially detained later by police.
Brand’s trip to the police station was brief. After being booked on suspicion of battery, he posted $20,000 bail and was released on his own recognizance.
Fiancee Katy Perry, who was with Brand at the time, later tweeted about the incident. “If you cross the line & try an put a lens up my dress, my fiancé will do his job & protect me. #standbyyourman #don’tf**kwiththeBrands,” she wrote.

Adam Lambert Accused of Assaulting Photographer

American Idol 9 runner up Adam Lambert is facing battery charges following an altercation with a photographer in Miami Beach on Thursday.
Photog Victor Eras says Glambert charged toward him and attacked him. Although the 38-year-old did file a report, police say Eras did not sustain any injuries. It’s not known what, if anything, precipitated the scuffle.
According to the Associated Press, the state attorney’s office will decide if any charges should be filed against the singer.
Adam addressed the story via Twitter: “Battery? Nope. I attempted to grab a camera, no punches were thrown and no one was on the ground…. It was literally harmless. If embarrassment is a crime- thats all I’m guilty of.”
It’s actually one of the most lucid Twitter posts we’ve read all week.
