Obama Snubs Kim Kardashian

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Television, Parties, Rivalries, Rumors,

Kim KardashianKim Kardashian was upset to be snubbed by President Barack Obama this week.

The reality TV star had reportedly hoped to meet the commander-in-chief at Steven Spielberg's USC Shoah Foundation gala in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and though she wasn't seated near the guest of honor, she asked one of her entourage to find out if he would meet her, only for her request to be denied.

"Kim's table wasn't close to President Obama's but she enlisted one of her minions to scout out the opportunity to meet him. Obama's table and surrounding area was swarming with Secret Service, and security was very tight. Kim's lackey was told to go pound sand, and it was conveyed to Kim that she wouldn't be able to meet him," a source said.

Obama Scores, Jay Leno Bombs at Correspondents’ Dinner

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Videos,

Ouch. This was not the way for Jay Leno to lead into Conan O’Brien’s 60 Minutes interview tonight.

NBC’s current host may have been headlining comedian at last night’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, but it was President Barack Obama who stole the show. Although the POTUS helped get the nearly 3000 attendees warmed up with a list of funny jokes (including zingers directed at Leno himself), Jay fumbled the lead once he arrived at the podium.

An Autotuned Recap of 2009

Having trouble remembering the pop culture events of the past year? Then here’s a catchy recap for you.

Although clips related to the Heenes, the Gosselins, Speidi and Nadya Suleman can be quite nauseating, the autotuned score - with samples from , Lady Gaga and Christian Bale - at least makes this 2009 review palatable.

Barack Obama: The Accessible President

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Television, Videos,

If you didn’t catch him giving out his March Madness picks on ESPN, trading quips on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno or looking appropriately grave during his in-depth 60 Minutes interview, you might have been among the thirty million who watched ’s second press conference.

During the first sixty-odd days of his reign as President of the United States, Obama has been on almost every television channel at least once. You could build a respectable video library with clips of his appearances found on YouTube alone.

We now know that this national leader thinks riding on Air Force One is “cool,” enjoys a game of basketball whenever he can get a chance and hopes to soon take on the health care problems of the country. We know who he’s rooting for in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, that he’s not a great bowler and that he pretty much has his hands full dealing with the AIG bonuses (and their repercussions).

Vice President Palin: Is the World Ready?

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Videos,

Sarah Palin

Pundits and political professionals have spent the last several months repeatedly asking the same question: is America ready to be led by someone who is outside the accepted status quo? In other words, could we have a non-white President? It’s been one of the hottest topics of the year, and it gave a lot of attention with the press. That is, until McCain pulled his trump card.

Otherwise known as Sarah Palin. Attractive, conservative, Yankee-ish and much, much younger than McCain, Palin has helped to change the feel of the entire campaign. Could she change the entire election? The media has been asking, for several months, if America is really ready to be led by a black man. Now, there’s another big question on the table. Is the world ready for the likes of - that self-styled bulldog-in-lipstick-hockey-mom who can’t keep her Yahoo business private and somehow found herself on the nation’s biggest political stage?

Not that it matters much, but doesn’t seem to think so.

Roseanne Slams Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Roseanne

If you happen to be a John McCain supporter - or if you’re for some reason undecided - whatever you do, don’t let Roseanne know.

This weekend, the actress/comedian used her blog to not only bash , but Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt too.

While the Obama supporter had every right to express her opinions about Voight (especially since he wrote an Op-Ed piece blasting the Democratic candidate), her criticisms about Angelina and Brad seemed to come out of left field.

John McCain in the Spotlight

John McCain

For a man who seems to shun celebrity, certainly has been in the media a lot lately - and little of the coverage has to do with his policy or his plans for the country. The republican will now get more attention for a wholly different reason…he’s being sued.

McCain’s political strategy, thus far, has been to undermine presidential competitor by calling him that dirtiest of all words - a celebrity. In the ads, McCain shows clips of Obama with his adoring public while the Jackson Browne hit “Running on Empty” plays in the background. Here’s the problem: McCain never got permission to use the song.
