Lindsay Lohan’s Lawyer Fires Back at Abuse Accusations

Lindsay Lohan out of rehabLindsay Lohan may be on the way to a clean, safe recovery; however, she still has some things from her recent rehab past to settle first.

Lohan's on-again off-again attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, is now firing back at last month's claims that her client was violating her probation -- specifically, consuming alcohol -- while at the Betty Ford clinic.

"I had numerous conversations with Betty Ford counselors and doctors over the course of Lindsay's treatment there and it was never suggested by anyone that she ever drank or used drugs. Her discharge letter from the facility is totally consistent with that," said Holley.

Right, and we should listen to the lawyer who maintained that Lindsay was in Cannes for work when she was incessantly photographed partying on a yacht, practically refusing to show up to her court case?

The new judge presiding over Lindsay's case, Judge Elden Fox, has previously said that Lohan will return to jail for up to six months should she violate the terms of her probation.

Until her progress review hearing on February 25, Lohan is subject to random drug and alcohol tests.

Lindsay Lohan

Less than a week after being sent back to—and being released from—jail, Lindsay Lohan has returned to another familiar spot: rehab.

The actress, who recently spent some of her free time visiting a homeless shelter, has now checked into a live-in facility in southern California. This time around, she’ll be receiving treatment at a location other than Promises.

According to TMZ, we shouldn’t be expecting another quick in-and-out from Lohan. She’s expected to stay in rehab until at least her next court hearing (which is scheduled for October 22).

Lindsay Lohan May Get Out of Rehab Early, Too

Lindsay Lohan in courtProsecutor Danette Meyers has stated that Lindsay Lohan may be released from her 90-day rehab sentence early. Linds has already served a , and it seems luck is still with her.

Meyers released this statement: “My understanding from conversations with [Lindsay’s lawyer] Shawn Chapman Holley is that Miss Lohan could be released early from the treatment facility. It is looking as if that is what the health care professionals are going to recommend. How much earlier she could be released I’m unsure of at this point. I will follow what the health care professional advise.”

However, Lindsay’s commitment won’t quite be over even once she’s sprung from rehab. Meyers also said that the early release could “involve follow up treatment for Miss Lohan.”

Lindsay Lohan Update: Upset With Post-Jail Commitments

Lindsay Lohan’s once-and-again lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley recently spoke with paparazzi while walking to her car after visiting the actress in jail. She says Linds is “a little upset right now” over the judge’s rehab ruling, a sentence which will be invoked once Lohan is released from jail.

Judge Revel ruled that Linds will begin a stay in rehab once she’s sprung from the pokey. But now that she’s had some time alone Lohan isn’t at all happy with the sentence. Holley says Lohan wants to spend time with her family after being released from jail, not go straight to rehab.

And we all know the Lohan family environment is extremely therapeutic indeed, surely the best thing for a girl who’s in jail for violating the terms of her probation after being hooked up to an alcohol monitoring bracelet at the age of 24. Lindsay’s family is just what she needs right now - not the safe, controlled environment of rehab. Sheesh.
