Lynne Spears: From Parenting to Provocative
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Breaking News,

Lynne Spears, mother to Britney and Jamie, is going to make sure she’s every bit as interesting as reality star and parent Dina Lohan. The famous mom has been working for many months on a promised parenting book, which was already halted (“postponed the book indefinitely” was the way the publishers put it) when the news first broke that Jamie Lynn (16) was pregnant.
The book will indeed be released September 16, but it’s now much less a parenting manual and more a juicy account of what it’s like to raise two stars. The tome’s official title is Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World.

Dustin Diamond Plans Saved by the Bell Tell-All
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Drugs, Rumors,
Just when I was convinced Mario Lopez was the slimiest thing to come out of Saved by the Bell, Dustin Diamond does something that makes me reevaluate my choice.
To be fair, Dustin actually did something slimy years ago when he exploited his sex tape for his career. But I’ve been trying to forget about that. Now, still nothing more than a D-lister, Diamond has now moved on to exploiting his former cast members.
According to New York Magazine, Screech Powers is going to have a ghostwriter produce a tell-all about his years on the show. The book, titled Behind the Bell, promises to talk about “sexual escapades among cast members, drug use, and hardcore partying.”
But will it explain how Elizabeth Berkley wound up in Showgirls? If not, I’ll pass.

Star Jones Responds to Barbara Walters’ Comments
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Editorials,
If you’ve been hiding under a rock somewhere, you might not have known that Barbara Walters is currently promoting her new autobiography, Audition.
On yesterday’s episode of Oprah, the journalist actually talked about other matters that didn’t concern a senator or an affair. In fact, the show started off on one of my other favorite topics, Star Jones. And while I thought Barbara did her best to talk about the situation in a tactful manner (it’s not like everyone didn’t know Star had gastric bypass), the former View co-host had an entirely different opinion.

Harry Potter Lawsuit Brings Writer to Tears
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Breaking News,
Steven Vander Ark, Harry Potter fan, cried on the witness stand today as he talked about the current lawsuit between his publishers - RDR Books - and J.K. Rowling.
The lawsuit stems from Ark’s deal with RDR to publish a Harry Potter Lexicon, based on a highly successful site created by Ark himself. Rowling’s suit claims the work infringes upon her own copyright.
Just yesterday, Potter author J.K. Rowling stated that she’s been creatively stopped by the suit, claiming she can no longer work on her book projects due to stress created by the case. Today, Ark got emotional when asked how his relationship with other Potter fans has been affected by the case. “It’s been difficult because there has been a lot of criticism, obviously, and that was never the intention,” Ark said in court. “This has been an important part of my life for the last nine years or so.”

J.K. Rowling’s Testimony
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Breaking News,
J. K. Rowling, arguably one of the most successful writers ever to walk the Earth, recently took the stand against Steve Vander Ark to argue about Harry Potter, arguably one of the most successful series of books ever penned. A lot of people have made a lot of money off of Harry Potter - including these two. So what could they possibly be arguing about?
Ark signed a deal with RDR Books to publish a reference manual dubbed “The Harry Potter Lexicon,” based on the Web site of the same name. And boy, is Rowling pissed about it. The novelist said she’s had to cease working on her new book due to stress, and that the problems of this lawsuit (and there is one, by the way) have “decimated my creative work over the past month.”

Oprah Duped by Another Writer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television,
Unless you’ve recently come out of hibernation, you were aware of the issue between Oprah and James Frey a while back. After Winfrey selected his book, A MIllion Little Pieces, for her book club in October 2005, the talk show host was blindsided by controversial news: the ‘memoir’ was partially made up.
Although it’s been over two years since Frey received a very public scolding from Oprah on her show, it seems the mogul’s peeps have not learned their lesson. While you would think they had a very large fact-checking operation going on - heaven forbid she be embarrassed again - they’ve let another supposed ‘memoir’ get past their sensors.
