David Arquette Checks Into Rehab

The new year hasn't brought much fortune or resolution to David Arquette just yet. The 39 year-old checked into rehab, which a source close to the actor say has been much needed, considering his recent separation from wife Courteney Cox.
The reason for admittance is surprisingly normal -- at least for Hollywood standards: "He is in there for drinking and depression, not hard drugs. Rehab was inevitable. He is dealing with a broken heart. He can't handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out," the source said.
No word yet from Courteney, who has said that their separation does not mean divorce.
Maybe David ought to ask Lindsay for some advice; she ought to have enough experience with rehab facilities. She may even invite him to one of her Betty Ford parties.

Lindsay Lohan Hosts a Party at Betty Ford

According to TMZ, Lindsay Lohan and her roommates in the satellite house of the Betty Ford Clinic threw a party, and that some of the roomies were “drinking heavily.”
Staffers busted up the get-together, and now the girls, Lohan included, have moved back into the main facility.
Nothing indicates that Linds was drinking during the party.

Although we have seen far too many celebrities ruin their careers with drugs and/or alcohol, there are a few who manage to turn their lives around. Robert Downey Jr. is one of the best examples we have today.
Unfortunately for Robert, this achievement means he has become Hollywood’s go-to spokesperson (outside of Dr. Drew) for substance abuse – whether he wants to be or not. Luckily, Downey knows how to handle those sensitive inquiries with class.

Russell Brand enjoyed the “most sober stag party in history” over the weekend.
The former alcohol and drug addict and reformed womanizer - who is set to marry singer Katy Perry next month - marked the imminent end of his bachelor status with a host of star friends, including ex-Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher, comedian David Walliams and TV presenter Jonathan Ross, with a weekend of activities which included watching a soccer match and raft building.

Lindsay Lohan Opens Up in New Vanity Fair Interview

In an interview conducted with Vanity Fair just one week before she went to jail for 17 days, Lindsay Lohan talked about addictions and the trauma in her life. Trauma that Linds thinks is largely created by her father, Michael Lohan.
This one’s a real doozy, folks.
In the interview, Lohan categorically denies that she has substance abuse issues. “If I were the alcoholic everyone says I am, them putting a [SCRAM] bracelet on would have ended me up in detox, in the emergency room, because I would have had to come down from all the things that people say I’m taking and my father says I’m taking—so that says something, because I was fine,” Linds explains. She also said, “I’ve never abused prescription drugs.”
“I think my biggest focus for myself is learning how to continue to get through the trauma that my father has caused in my life.” Michael Lohan has been a near-constant fixture in the press both for his love affairs and his off-again relationship with his daughter.
But Lindsay isn’t going to spend the rest of her life thinking about Michael - she hopes to get her derailed career back on track. “I don’t care what anyone says. I know that I’m a damn good actress,” she said. “I know that in my past I was young and irresponsible—but that’s what growing up is. You learn from your mistakes.” One hopes.
The Lindsay Lohan issue of Vanity Fair will appear on nationwide newsstands by September 7.

Probation Extended For Nicole Richie

Lindsay Lohan could learn something from Nicole Richie, who recently extended her probation.
The socialite - who was put on probation in 2006 following a driving under the influence (DUI) offence, after being arrested for driving the wrong way down a Los Angeles motorway and failing a sobriety test - was told it wouldn’t be terminated next month as expected, because she hasn’t attended enough alcohol education classes.
According to her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley - who appeared in a Los Angeles court yesterday - the 28-year-old starlet failed to complete the course because she has been too busy looking after her children Harlow, two, and nine-month-old Sparrow, her kids with her rocker fiance Joel Madden.
Her probation period has now been extended to March 2011, but the judge has promised to terminate it early if she completed the alcohol program before then. Despite the extension, Nicole has been praised for her work on the course so far. Her report states, “Her attitude is excellent.”

Lindsay Lohan Vindicated by Alcohol Test

UPDATE: New sources say that Lindsay’s alcohol level was 0.4 when the SCRAM bracelet alert went off.
Much to people’s disbelief, Lindsay Lohan tested negative for alcohol following a recent alert from her SCRAM bracelet.
Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, revealed that a urine test extracted shortly after the alert tested negative, proving the troubled starlet’s unwavering Twitter statements about her innocence to be true.
The actress, despite her strict bail requirements, was all too tempted to attend an MTV Movie Awards after party earlier this month; at the soiree, Lohan’s alcohol monitoring bracelet went off, blinking a red light through her boots (she later denied this, claiming that the light came from a bracelet her friend had given her).
Faster than anyone could say, “I Know Who Killed Me,” a warrant was issued… and then later recalled once Lohan coughed up a cool 10% of the bail—$20,000. The district attorney’s office previously said that the alert was “an alcohol-related violation.”
No word yet as to what actually set off the alert.

Warrant for Lindsay Lohan Recalled

Lindsay Lohan should have limited her MTV Movie Awards appearance to the red carpet.
Following the ceremony, Linds partied a little too hard - or at least, that’s the story her SCRAM bracelet tells. After Lohan’s alcohol-monitoring device went off Sunday night, alerting authorities that she was in violation of her parole, a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.
The warrant was later recalled after a bail bondsman posted $20,000 - 10% of her $200,000 bail - to keep free Lindsay Lohan from custody.
The actress turned to her Twitter page - predictably - to deny the allegations that she violated her parole. Linds wrote: “My scram wasn’t set off-Its physically impossible considering I’ve nothing for it to go off-All of these false resports are absolutely wrong.”

The actress, who has been forced to wear a SCRAM bracelet which monitors her alcohol consumption following a probation hearing regarding her second driving under the influence (DUI) conviction, has reportedly become addicted to a herbal drink which is said to detox and energize the body.
