Probation Extended For Nicole Richie

Lindsay Lohan could learn something from Nicole Richie, who recently extended her probation.
The socialite - who was put on probation in 2006 following a driving under the influence (DUI) offence, after being arrested for driving the wrong way down a Los Angeles motorway and failing a sobriety test - was told it wouldn’t be terminated next month as expected, because she hasn’t attended enough alcohol education classes.
According to her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley - who appeared in a Los Angeles court yesterday - the 28-year-old starlet failed to complete the course because she has been too busy looking after her children Harlow, two, and nine-month-old Sparrow, her kids with her rocker fiance Joel Madden.
Her probation period has now been extended to March 2011, but the judge has promised to terminate it early if she completed the alcohol program before then. Despite the extension, Nicole has been praised for her work on the course so far. Her report states, “Her attitude is excellent.”

Gisele Bundchen Has Son Christened, Cuts Down on Diaper Usage

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen had her son christened yesterday.
The Victoria’s Secret model and her NFL quarterback husband Tom Brady - who wore matching navy outfits - invited friends and family to St. Monica’s church in Santa Monica, California, for the baptism of their six-month-old tot Benjamin. After the service, the guests left the church - which was also where Tom and Gisele married last year - and celebrated with lunch at the beachfront hotel Casa del Mar.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Brazilian beauty claims Benjamin is already potty trained. According to Gisele, Benjamin uses the toilet after breastfeeding in the morning and afternoon after she consulted a parenting manual for tips: “Give it about five minutes, and bang.”
“Every time she calls me to see it, I say, ‘Do not want to see it,’” her sister Tia Patricia added.
Gisele is trying to teach Benjamin to use the potty early because she is trying to cut down on the tot’s use of diapers: “Diapers pollute the environment. Where does this garbage go?”

Tiffani Thiessen: It’s a girl for the White Collar actress and husband Brady Smith. On Tuesday, Tiffani said hello to Harper Renn Smith, the couple’s first child. The new parents have been married since 2005.
Maggie Rodriguez: The Early Show anchor now has someone to keep her company during her pre-dawn hours. Son Michael Tobin Rodriguez Jr., her second child with husband Michael, made his debut on June 13. Big sister Daniella is five years old.

Katherine Heigl Chooses Movies Over Daughter

Self Emmy-submitter Katherine Heigl says it’s difficult being a working mother.
The 31-year-old actress, who is married to Josh Kelley, found it hard to leave her adopted daughter, 18-month-old Naleigh, to go off and shoot her latest film Killers, which also stars Ashton Kutcher.
“It’s difficult but it’s like any working mom I think you have to make some compromises. It’s easier said than done, but I knew that I wanted to keep working, I love what I do but it’s really hard to leave her - I feel horrible,” Katherine said at the London premiere of her film.
But when quizzed on whether she would like to add to her brood and adopt again, she nodded and said, “I hope to, yes.”
Katherine also explained why she plans to stick to acting and never attempt to direct a big screen blockbuster: “I’m very grateful for the opportunity to produce but as far as directing - I can’t imagine I’d ever do that. Because even at this stage, 20 years into it, I still don’t really understand how that works and how all that part happens.”

Reality star mom and former Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson believes her sex tape will make her a better parent.
The blonde beauty - who made the video when she was 18 with ex-boyfriend Justin Frye - is “hurt” the footage is being released as a DVD, entitled Kendra Exposed, but thinks ultimately she and her American footballer husband Hank Baskett will be able to teach their son six-month-old Hank Baskett IV a moral lesson from it.
