2010 Screen Actors Guild Award Nominations (TV)

Dexter

Squeezed in between the Golden Globes broadcast and the Oscar nominations is an awards ceremony voted on solely by the actors. (So unlike the People’s Choice Awards, this actually has meaning.)

For the 16th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, we’ll see a lot of the old and just a little bit of the new. Here are some of the noteworthy mentions from this year’s list of television nominees:

  • The Closer, Dexter and 30 Rock lead this year’s pack with three nominations each.
  • Despite no individual mentions, freshman comedies and Glee were both honored in the Best Ensemble category.
  • Samantha Who‘s Christina Applegate received a nomination despite starring in a canceled show.
  • received its first nom—but just for its cast, not for any single actor.

The will air Saturday, Jan. 23 on both TNT and TBS.

Ugly Betty Replaces Motherhood, Samantha Early

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, ABC,

Ugly Betty

UPDATE: Samantha Who? and In the Motherhood are officially over for the season. A Grey’s repeat will fill the 8:00 time slot this week.

Weeks after being displaced from its time slot, Ugly Betty is coming back to take its place. Early.

Hello, May sweeps!

ABC has just announced that the series will pick up where it left off beginning April 30. That’s one week before it was previously slated to return. It’s also the date Samantha Who? and had been scheduled to air their finales.

So what does this mean for the pair of comedies? Maybe the network can find some more space on its Saturday night calendar?

Thursday Ratings: Parks Weakens Without Office

Although it’s still hard to say how Southland will do against an ABC original, the series held up remarkably well in its second week. Unfortunately, the same can’t entirely be said for Harper’s or Parks. The CBS mystery lost nearly 2 million in its second week while the comedy suffered a case of the post-Earl blues.
