We found a great little site dedicated to Black Friday. There over fifty lists from companies that include Circuit City, CompUSA, Office Depot and Radio Shack, with more to come. Looking at Sears’ list, we found such items as a Samsung Blu-ray Disc Player for $199.99, Sharp’s LC26SB24U 26” 720p LCD HDTV for $399.99, and the Sony 5-Disc DVD/CD Home Theater System with 1080p Upconversion at $249.99, marked down $50.00. Actors Stand in for Polish iPhone Purchasers
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Apple, Cell Phones, Handhelds
While many camped out in the U.S. for a chance to be one of the first grab the sacred iPhone, there might have been a slight hesitancy on the part of Poland to do likewise. So, according to their largest mobile carrier Orange, actors were paid to stand in line.
“We have these fake queues at front of 20 stores around the country to drum up interest in the iPhone,“ a spokesperson said. Their thinking is that buyers there may not have sufficient funding to splurge on the expensive device. There were none paid to hang at the T-Mobile Era stores, however.

TiVo to incorporate Amazon shopping into menu
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Broadband, Features, Home Entertainment, Internet
Way out of left field, TiVo has announced that customers are going to be able to browse and purchase from Amazon’s huge inventory, from the comfort of their living rooms. You know, because shopping a store that has tens of thousands of items to choose from, using just your remote control, is all kinds of awesome. To take part, you need to have a broadband-connected TiVo Series 2, Series 3, or TiVo HD (seriously, is anyone still doing dial-up on these things?).
Starting today, TiVo will launch the new service to consumers by merchandising products related to several high profile shows, including but not limited to The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Colbert Report, and Burn Notice. Consumers will also be able to use TiVo’s Universal Swivel Search to easily explore and buy products associated with their favorite shows, movies, actors, and directors, directly from the television set
I don’t know about you, but these images showing Amazon shopping on TiVo don’t look that enticing. In any event, you can get your shop on starting today.

Amazon is down. What?
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Internet

Don’t look now (well, you can if you want,) but the biggest online retailer in the universe, Amazon, is currently down. Apparently, they’ve been gone for about an hour and a half at this point. Visiting the site results in the cryptic “Http/1.1 Service Unavailable” message. That’s never good. We actually had something we wanted to purchase with overnight shipping, and if they don’t make it back online, it looks like we will be out of luck. Oh well, I guess we can use competing sites. Don’t forget, in your time of need, you can always use a Newegg promo code to save some cash. Especially while Amazon is having trouble.
Did you know that for every minute of downtime suffered, Amazon is losing out on roughly $31,000.00 USD in sales?
EDIT: Okay, looks like they’re back.
