ABC Moving Forward with Charlie’s Angels Reboot
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Action, ABC, Video,
What was rumored about over a year ago is now coming to fruition (as if there was any doubt).
A Miami-set version of Charlie's Angels has now reached pilot stage for ABC. The reboot of the classic series will be handled by two of the producers from the movie installments (Drew Barrymore, Nancy Juvonen) and Leonard Goldberg.
Smallville creators/executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar will also share producing duties.
No actresses have yet been tapped for the update, but Gossip Girl's Mark Piznarski is being considered as a possible director.

Cashmere Star Moving to Dirty Sexy Money
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Cancellations, Rumors,
While ABC has neither confirmed or denied the demise of Cashmere Mafia, the program’s prognosis does not look good. The evidence? One of the show’s leading ladies is already working on her own backup plan.
Lucy Liu, Cashmere‘s Mia Mason, is reportedly in talks to star in another ABC drama. Assuming her upcoming schedule frees up, she could soon have a full-time job on Dirty Sexy Money. The role would allow the actress to return to familiar Ally McBeal-esque territory: Liu would once again play a lawyer.
In case you were wondering about Lipstick Jungle (a.k.a. NBC’s version of Mafia), that show did make it on the 2008-09 schedule.

ABC to Welcome 11 New Shows
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, ABC, News,
ABC will continue to work toward ratings supremacy this coming fall with no less than eleven brand-new shows. Will any one of them match the Desperate Housewives phenomenon? ABC certainly hopes so. The eleven new shows will bring some once-familiar faces back to the small screen, including Christina Applegate (of Jessie and Married With Children fame) and Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels movie star who got her start on Ally McBeal). But how many of these newcomers will make it to a second season on ABC? That probably all depends on how popular the existing ABC ratings-grabbers stay when faced with new network competition. How do these new fall shows stack up?

Lucy Liu, Jerry O’Connell Join ‘Betty’ for February Sweeps
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Ratings,
Prepare for the guest appearances, as we head into February sweeps. Ugly Betty will be adding Lucy Liu and Jerry O’Connell to the roster for brief guest star appearances. Liu, who is no stranger to television after appearing on Ally McBeal, will be seen in two episodes beginning on February 15th. Her role should be fun (how could it not be, with this irresistible actress)—she’ll be playing a college classmate of Daniel Meade’s (Eric Mabius). He calls on her for help, but since he stood her up for a date back in college, this could be tricky. O’Connell is a regular on Crossing Jordan, but will be swinging by Betty for one episode on February 15th. And here you can expect cuteness, because he’ll meet up with Alexis Meade (played by Rebecca Romijn, who is engaged to O’Connell) at a bar.
