Thursday Ratings: Live for the Moment DOA

Jeff Probst had to learn a very hard lesson last night: Fans simply don’t like to watch him in shows that aren’t titled Survivor. Last night’s Live for the Moment special got beat by everything in the demos…even repeats. Meanwhile, FOX - just about the only network to air originals - easily won in the viewers and the 18-49s.

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Sports, FOX, Ratings,

NFC Championship Game 2010The gridiron action between the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings was just about the only thing people were dialing in to watch last night. (Repeats offered by the competitors helped paved the way.)

Yesterday’s tight game brought in a whopping 57.9 million viewers, a record for any NFC Championship Game ever held on FOX.

The Saints’ defeat over Brett Favre - which pulled in a 21.3 rating with the 18-49s - was also the most-watched event of the season.

Thursday Ratings: Bones Bests CSI, Deep End Sinks

Last night’s programming ended with interesting results. Despite non-stop promotions, ABC’s freshman series The Deep End struggled to find an audience with the 18-49s during its hour. Meanwhile, CBS had some good and bad news. On the plus side, repeats of The Big Bang Theory did better than original comedies on NBC. On the negative side, Bones actually beat CSI in the demos.

Tuesday Ratings: Human Target Tops All Repeats

There’s a few things that can safely be said when it comes to ratings. One: Anything you place against American Idol - especially if it’s a repeat (and there were a lot of those last night) - will lose. Two: Anything you place after the FOX hit will garner a lot of interest. (Case in point: Human Target.)

Human Target8pm

  • (26.1 million 9.9/27 in 18-49) was down 3.8 million from last week.
  • * (2.6/7) checked in 14.1 million.
  • (9.9 million, 4.1/11) piled on 1.8 million more.
  • * (2.7 million, 0.8/2) did about the same.
  • * (0.6/2) scraped up 2 milion.
  • * (800,000, 0.3/1) was up slightly.

Monday Ratings: Another Painful Outing for Heroes

If NBC doesn’t cancel Heroes after the end of this season, it would be the worst decision that network has made since….well, you know. Although some have claimed the show will return next year, the phrase “hit a series low” is constantly used when referencing the program. (Last night was no exception.) Yesterday’s episode even drew less viewers than The Jay Leno Show.
