Tuesday Ratings: Lost is Found by Viewers

Lost’s 3-hour kickoff might not have done enough to beat the activity over at FOX, but it did do well enough to beat itself. Yesterday’s event showed year-to-year premiere improvement for the first time since Season 2. The series also had its best rating in almost two years.
8pm
- American Idol (8.9/23 in 18-49) raised 300,000 more.
- NCIS (19.1 million, 4.3/11) fell by 1 million.
- The first hour of Lost* (4.1/11) recapped 9.9 million.
- A Biggest Loser* repeat (1.6/4) weighed in with 4.9 million.
- 90210* (0.4/1) kept 873,000 busy.

- NCIS: Los Angeles (16.4 million, 3.6/9 in 18-49) gave up 800,000.
- The season premiere of Lost (5.6/14 in 18-49) had 12.1 million glued.
- The Biggest Loser (3.7/9) dipped by 200,000.
- Kitchen Nightmares (9.3 million, 3.9/10) benefitted from the strong lead-in.
- Melrose Place* (0.2/1) turned in 661,000.

- The Good Wife (2.6/7 in 18-49) scored 12.7 million.
