Friday Ratings: ABC Picks Up Traction

Despite low premiere numbers last Friday, ABC’s lineup picked up a little steam this week. This improvement, however, was not enough to take down CBS’ strong staples.

America’s Next Top Model 11: The Fiercee Awards

ANTM logo

On this week’s episode of , the girls learned that modeling wasn’t just about showing up and looking pretty. It was about discovering who you were and not being afraid to let go. It was about knowing your best traits and embracing your warts.

Given Clark’s recent elimination, the remaining eight ladies realized they couldn’t afford to take their critiques for granted. Elina still had to overcome control issues, Lauren Brie had to deliver a personality and Analeigh needed to find her niche.

Friday Ratings: Ex List is No Moonlight

Last Friday, number crunchers had their eyes on two events: the debut of The Ex List and the departure of Friday Night Smackdown. Unfortunately for CBS and CW, the news wasn’t good. Despite CBS’ win in both the demos and viewers, Moonlight started and ended better than Ex‘s premiere. Meanwhile, CW’s comedic lineup only did 1/2 as well as the network’s old wrestling staple.

This Week on TV (10/6-10/12)

The Real Housewives of Atlanta

(You can view TV Envy’s Fall Television Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY (10/6)
  • Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9pm):  “Alan tries dating two women at the same time.” I remember when Ducky was pining over just Molly Ringwald. He’s all growns up now.
  • Prison Break (FOX, 9pm):  “Sara learns something disturbing about Michael.” She realizes that if it weren’t for his steely gaze and tattoos, Michael would just be your average white guy.
  • I Want to Work for Diddy (VH1, 9pm):  Series finale. “The final contestants train with Marcus Buckingham and are interviewed by Diddy.” If they mistakenly admit their loyalty for McCain, Diddy will retreat back under the covers.
  • Exiled (MTV, 10:30pm):  “A hip hop star’s daughter is sent to the island nation Vanuatu to live in a bug-filled jungle in the shadow of an active volcano.” Had she wasted her youth watching Survivor: Vanuatu, she would have been prepared.

Wednesday Ratings: ABC Premieres Start Weak

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Ratings,

ABC’s Wednesday lineup - a victim of last year’s writers strike - had a large hurdle to overcome last night. Unfortunately, the viewers were not where the Alphabet network left them. The audiences (along with the demos) were all over at CBS.

On this week’s episode of , the girls learned how quickly the game could change. With just one roll of film, a model could either sink to the bottom or vault to the top.

Sunday Ratings: Desperate Housewives Has Welcome Return

Despite being down approximately 5% since last year, the retooled Desperate Housewives was easily last night’s best draw. Unfortunately, the show couldn’t fight off the Bears and Eagles alone. NBC - with the help of Sunday Night Football - was once again tops in both categories last night.

Wednesday Ratings: CBS Cleans Up

Despite a weak start, CBS ended the night on a strong note. The returns of Criminal Minds and CSI: NY allowed the network to win the viewers and the demos last night.

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11: Fierce Eyes

ANTM logo

Just when I thought I had seen everything on , the producers decided to throw in a new twist. And surprisingly, it didn’t have anything to do with Tyra. This week, one girl was eliminated before reaching the show’s halfway mark. (No photo shoot, no judges panel…nada.) Make no mistakes—Season 11’s gonna be ruthless!

In this episode, the women were finally given the chance to show off their version of a runway walk. But since simple strutting down an actual runway would be too easy, Miss J had to spice things up a bit. This time around, the ladies were taken to a bowling alley where they were given special high-heeled bowling shoes. (Cue Hannah: “I didn’t even know they made stuff like that!”) Since models are often asked to walk on different types of surfaces, the challenge was to master the slick bowling lanes.

Sunday Ratings: Emmys Reach New Low

Last night, I made a comment about the Emmys hitting a new low. Apparently it was more than a just a joke. Yesterday’s telecast - which was pitted against a football game - received its smallest numbers to date. Meanwhile, NBC was once again on top with both the viewers and the demos.
