Monday Ratings: Premiere Excitement Fades in Week 2

Are viewers already bored with the Monday schedule? Minus a few exceptions, the ratings chart this week was full of down arrows—including one for The Event, the series that has raised a lot of buzz for NBC. In the end, Dancing with the Stars’ ballroom action kept ABC on top of the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (21.3 million, 4.8/12 in 18-49) remained steady.
- House (10.2 million, 3.8/10) fell by 500,000.
- How I Met Your Mother (9.1 million, 3.9/11) added on 300,000; Rules of Engagement (8.2 million, 3.2/8) was down slightly.
- Chuck (5.4 million, 2.0/5) gave up 400,000.
- 90210 (2 million, 1.0/3) improved by 200,000.

- Two and a Half Men (13.9 million, 4.8/12 in 18-49) was off by 700,000; Mike & Molly shaved off 1.1 million.
- The Event (9.1 million, 2.9/7) shed 1.8 million.
- Lone Star (3.2 million, 1.0/3) gave FOX reason to cancel it.
- Gossip Girl (1.8 million, 1.0/2) did the same.
10pm
- Hawaii Five-0 1(2.7 million, 3.5/10 in 18-49) went south by 1.1 million.
- Castle (11.1 million, 2.8/8) was on par with last week.
- Chase (6.3 million, 2.1/6) whittled away 1 million.
