Our friends over at TekZilla were able to get their hands on the Panasonic TC-P65VT50, and they're calling it the absolute best HDTV that you can buy this year. The plasma display offers amazing, inky blacks alongside automated greyscale setup. Of course, this is the top of the line in Panasonic's flagship VT series of high definition television sets, and is therefore THX 3D certified to boot. The set also supports automatic calibration, as demonstrated in the video with CalMAN software. Lastly, the included remote control is top-notch, featuring touch controls similar to a trackpad.
All in all, if you are looking for the best HDTV that you can buy (and arguably, the best HDTV manufactured to date,) you'll wanna seriously consider the Panasonic TC-P65VT50.

Video: Glitch at San Diego Big Bay Boom sets off 18 minutes of fireworks in 15 seconds

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Misc. Tech, Videos,
Yesterday was the 4th of July, celebrated in the USA as Independence Day. Across the country, fireworks shows dazzled spectators to celebrate the 235th birthday of the United States, but the Big Bay Boom in San Diego, California left citizens wanting more.
The show began promptly at 9:00pm as expected, and about fifteen seconds later, it was over. An unfortunate glitch led to the entire 18 minutes worth of fireworks to launch all at once. A statement from Garden State Fireworks, the firm in charge of the show, states:
We will be working throughout the night to determine what technical problem caused the entire show to be launched in about 15 seconds. We apologize for the brevity of the show and the technical difficulties," the company said in a statement posted on www.bigbayboom.com.
As you can imagine, there were plenty of people who came out, some with young children, and waited for hours to ensure a good spot who walked away angry and disappointed. Check out the video after the break.

Microsoft has released a preview showing how the next version of Windows Phone 7, 7.8, will visually look. As you might recall, when the company showed off Windows Phone 8, it also announced that there would be no upgrade path for any Windows Phone 7 devices. However, they also let us know that those users would be able to upgrade to Windows Phone 7.8 in order to get the most obvious and visual feature--the new Windows Phone home screen. Once upgraded to 7.8, users will be able to resize all of their tiles as easily as Windows Phone 8 users can, and in the video above Microsoft's Ben Rudolph walks us through the experience.

If you draw anything like we do, attempting to put the pencil to paper to form a circle usually turns out in some sort of watermelon-shaped disaster. Until now. The video below offers a piece of advice that should allow anyone with at least two fingers to draw a perfect circle. It's actually pretty ingenius, really. You simply use one finger as the center point, and place the pencil on the paper similar to a compass. From there, you just rotate the page itself, rather than having to move your hand. Check the video to see how it's done.
