Nokia Comes with Music Package to Debut in UK

Nokia has decided to launch its “Comes with Music” package in the UK first after making a deal with Carphone Warehouse. The arrangement allows users to permanently keep the music they have downloaded during the year on their 5310 XpressMusic Phone which will be offered in 8 Special Editions. Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte Cell Phone

Nokia has a new high end cell phone constructed of carbon fiber, titanium, polished glass, and stainless steel with an anti-fingerprint coating. The 8800 Carbon Arte features a tap-for-time button below the display for an insta-clock. It has turn-to-mute capability by turning the phone screen side down and changing background images. Also included is a 3G memory, a 3.2 megapixel auto-focus cam, high quality audio, and an OLED display. Look for the Arte in the 3rd quarter of this year for €1,100 ($1,620.).

Sony BMG Joins UMG Subscription Service

Nokia must be pleased that Sony BMG has teamed up with the Universal Music Group to allow their subscribers to have access to their music catalog. They join companies such as A&M, Geffen Records, Decca, and Motown Records. The company’s “Comes With Music” program, which started up last December, allows some users, depending on the model of phone, to download any of their songs on their cell phones or computers. Those phones should become available in the 3rd Quarter of this year at as yet undisclosed prices. The UMG subscription service will allow downloaders to own the tunes after a year.

Nokia Opens N-Gage for Cell Phones

Nokia has finally decided its mobile gaming service N-Gage is ready to meet the world. The website, unveiled this week, has the necessary software for you to download to connect with your cell phone. The company is planning to have about 30 games available by midyear with another 30 by the end of 2008. They also are offering free trials. Companies such as EA, Gameloft, and Glu Mobile will be designing games for them. Check with Nokia to see if you have the right model and if you must pay data charges to download the games.
